Hi from the San Diego team. Those six months of classes will be essential. My niece didn't have to do them and gained all the weight back and more after her surgery. I guess she thought the surgery would take away all temptation. Doesn't always work that way.

Hope you sometimes check in on the SD chat thread.

I was married to a man for 25 years who thought getting me a 1/2 gal. of Bluebell icecream as a reward for a long successful diet. Men, they just don't get
I was visited by the old hag (mother nature as you call her) for over 30 years and can honestly say I do not miss her one bit. But, she made my life a living hell for 5 days out of every 30. You will rejoice too one

Have a wonderful weekend and I will see ya on the boards friend. emoticon

emoticon I ended up getting a scale from Walmart but will keep info on the scales you have. this one is not great and won't last long but I needed it to weigh in on Sat. Yes, I too am trying to get to 230 by 8/18, I have another 36 lbs to go and am not going to give in to old habits.

You have a wonderful day and I will see you on the pages.

Thank you for telling me where you got the scale. I too work form home and am at the computer all day, do not get me wrong, I Love what I do but it does not allow for any exercise.
Well...I like making new friends so please stop by any time. We can do this!

Thanks for the scale info Jorie! Good luck on your weight loss journey. SP friends make it so much more enjoyable and encouraging to get to our goals.

P.S. We are both around the same weight right now, I'm at 234 lbs. Unfortunately, I've been stuck lately... 3 weeks stuck! I've been gaining and losing the same 5 lbs over and over again. I know I can push through it because I've done it before. On my 65th birthday, November of 2015, I weighed in at 165 lbs. I was just 10 lbs from my goal of 155. That was the first time I was that light since I was in college - decades ago! This year I'll be 68 and although I doubt whether I'll be able to get to at least 165 lbs, I'm still pushing. This time around is more difficult because I'm hampered by a lot of knee and hip pain from arthritis. But I WILL DO IT!!

You are young enough to push through it and be much healthier by the time you reach the "Golden Years" (more like "Rusty Years" ~LOL). Just take it from an older but wiser oldie, do it for your sake and your family's sake.
