My weight has gone up and down most of my life but then I hit a new high weight and decided I had had it. I got more serious on sparkpeople, got my food in order, started exercising regularly and started feeling better and losing weight. I felt great. And I had lost almost 40 pounds. I was on my way!

Then a series of bad things in life hit me one after the other. I got depressed. I lost my inner strength. I stopped caring about myself. I tried to hang in there but I was only putting forth a token effort. I just couldn't seem to find myself again and I just couldn't seem to find the energy to care about me. Sure enough, gradually my healthy habits faded away. Before I knew it I had gained all the weight back that I had worked so hard to lose. I felt even worse. Before I knew it I had gained 20 more pounds on top of it. I felt worse.

Fortunately, I had another "I HAVE HAD IT!" moment. I got sick and tired of living this way and decided I had to change. Unfortunately, right as I was getting back to my healthy ways I injured my back. That was a major blow to my fragile motivation. I'm not going to let it stop me though. I'll start by doing what I can do NOW.

Since I have a lot of weight to lose and a long way to go my plan is to focus primarily on the next five pounds.

Short-term goal - lose 5 pounds
Mid-term goal - lose first 10%
Long-term goal - get under 300

    OOPS I think I forgot to put it in!! SORRY!!

    Due to HIPPA Laws ALL of that infomation is being kept very private and it's a feature we must inform our Dr of if we choose to do it. I doubt if I will, but if I run into a Dr to do with nutrition it'd be so much easier. So who knows,,,, it could be a thing.

    One ear of corn, great idea. Now that would be portion control for sure! I will check next time I go. I've been to PT twice and fingers crossed that it helps.

    HI Melissa, I DID ask your question to SPARKGUY and it's in the new blog.

    Hope all is well? SORRY yu were sick and couldn'tmake it the family reunion. I think I'll ask a cousin my Dad side if she'd do one, and I'll help with supplies, organizing, encouraging others to attend.
