shambling adds effect! I guess I'm a domestic zombie since I tend to hang out in the kitchen?

(can I brag? just a little? On 12-12-15, and on 5-31-21, my page was the daily featured SparkPeople Motivator. and honestly, that just made me bust my Feel-Good Gut! THANK YOU!)

I'm a highly educated, 60+, retired lady whose main "fun" right now is leading an aerobics class twice a week. I'm not a tech-head, but I'm active, involved, and always searching for more friends. I'm even better in person, as I'm pretty laid-back and accepting!

I've learned how to reach a weight loss goal -- I reached my goal weight by Low Carbing, a la Atkins. But I got severe lack of support at a time of great stress, did the stupid thing and regained the weight, and now am starting all over. This time, I'm doing protein-sparing keto with a plan filled out until I reach goal weight. I'm smart, but I have learned you are always stronger when you have help. I KNOW I can do this; but I'd love to have a buddy.

My goal is to lose weight and keep it off for ME -- to look good, feel good, and be healthier for the rest of my life. I'm finally OVER (that was SO last decade!) the struggle to stay YOUNG and pushing myself far too hard. Now, I'm more relaxed -- I enjoy gardening, oil painting, stained-glass making, dancing, reading, and cuddling with my dear friend Ginger (that green thing on my shoulder in my profile image), in addition to my more vigorous pursuits of snow-skiing, aerobics and Zumba, shooting hoops, and hula-hooping. Hey, ya gotta keep it fun! My new grandkids help me keep it fun!

I joined Spark Oct. '07 and I was at 214#. Thankfully, I'm at 134# thanks to finding a doctor who helped me get it off.

Being on a low carb team is very supportive. Just keep being here!
Just read your info. When you come over to Italy, we’re only about five hours along the coast. Do come and visit! I think we’d have a blast.

Hello! Yes, I am fine. What makes you worry? No need to worry.

I have just been busy with work, as in the cafe and online work.

I have taken on a few more teams, leaving me with a full plate!

    How are you?

Sure you'll make it. TIny step by tiny step. Soemetimes that's the way it is. And that's OKAY!! Its not a race, it's a slow process for many of us. I too, am my 60's. I went from 288 to 170 and it took me a long time, but as I started to lose I slowly noticed more energy a little less pain. The pain isn't gone totally though my joints DO feel so much better. It's okay we move slower,, we still move. For this I'm grateful. HANG ON IN!! Inch by Inch cause this ain't no cinch. BUT IT IS Doable.
