1/30/11--Dang it has been almost a year and a half since I updated! YIKES! Sorry! So much has changed. While I am still trying to lose weight for the past year and a half I seem to have hit a plateau that goes up or down 5 pounds (well except for the 12 that I gained over the Holidays, a little out of control). I am back on the wagon. While I did not complete the 13k that I was going to in 2009, the race was full by the time I actually went to register. I did however complete my first 5k Sept 25, 2010. I ran/walked it in 46 mins and 53 seconds. I was very proud since I was just going to be glad if I got done in under an hour! Then on Thanksgiving morning I completed another 5k and did it in 43 mins and 19 seconds! Almost 4 mins off my first time! I am currently training for my third 5k which will be on Feb 26th. I would love to finish in 42 mins. We'll see how it goes, I need to get on the road and actually start training, instead of the treadmill at the Y. Oh BTW I LOVE the YMCA! lol It gives me lots of variety and classes that push me more than I would myself. I almost forget on days I can't go that I CAN workout at home still! lol Hoping to get on a losing streak again this year. I HAVE to lose what I gained over the holidays. So far so good since I have currently lost 5 of them, but still have 7 more to go to get me back where I was prior to the holidays. UGH! It certainly is a constant battle. But one I am determined to continue to fight! :-)

9/10/09--Well it has been quite awhile since I have updated my SP. I have been here, but just have not been seeing much progress so didn't feel like there was much to update! lol But I have some new goals and it seems that the scale and my body are finally starting to give in to the changes and getting rid of the weight again. I have a friend who has convinced me to run a 13k with her (okay I will be mostly walking, but some running). But yeah, nothing like starting out with the give it your all as opposed to starting small and working your way up! No sir, no 5k here for me! ROFL The race is the end of October. So I am training for that. I will let you know how it all goes!

11/21/08--Wow, I can hardly believe it that in less than a week I will have been on SparkPeople for just over a year. In that year I have lost 60 pounds (yeah I have had a slow couple of months since the 50 pound mark). I am so happy with the progress I have made and it truly is only because of the motivation and support I have found here on SP! I LOVE YOU GUYS!! Thank you for a terrific site and for some wonderful people. The last time I tried to lose weight I lost 30 pounds in 9 months. I gained almost all of it back not too long after I quit dieting. It was not something I could do forever, and I have found that is most important to me. If I can't stick with it forever, then I won't keep the weight off forever. But now look at me! Here it is just 1 year after I started and I have lost 60 pounds (double what I did last time in a 9 month timeframe). I know everyone says this, but it is true for SparkPeople: If I can do it, you can do it! And I am not the only one that can say that about Spark. I know soooo many people who have found continued success with this website. It is hard, but so worth it! Don't give up, if you need support, just reach out, someone will be there to lend a hand! You can do it! I promise!

8/14/08--I am at my half way point! I am so excited! I have lost 50 pounds!!! Did you hear what I said? YES, 50 POUNDS!! Boy it has been a journey for sure. Thank you Spark for all you have taught me. Please see my blog for today.

5/16/08--An update. So far I have lost 35 pounds. I am grateful for my new life, my new eating habits and especially my exercise routine. I try to work out at least 30 minutes Tuesday-Saturday. Sunday is my day of rest and Monday is just hard because I work all day and then have to come home while DH rushes out the door off to school. So for now, I just do 5 days a week and am happy with it. Results are happening, sometimes I think wow look at what I have done in such a short time and other times I think, darn, can't I lose a little faster?! But for the most part overall I am happy with the amount and speed because I know I can keep it off permanently. I really have changed my lifestyle. I have to keep it up forever, I know that. There will be times I fall and slip, but for the most part I can keep going forward and not beat myself up for the little indulgences we can all grant ourselves once in awhile. I have learned that the old fashioned way is truly the best way. Healthy eating and exercise are the key. Looking forward to losing another 35 pounds+! My life really is changing in so many ways and for that I am very grateful!

11/5/07--I have battled with my weight all my life. It has been a real struggle and I want to be done with it once and for all. My husband had a scare two months ago and so together we are trying to get healthy and happier. I want to change to a new lifestyle, not another diet.
