The above quote is one of my favorites. I think everyone has something in them that is special, that is beautiful and that makes them shine. Sometimes its out there in the open for everyone to see, but sometimes we have to dig a little deeper and look a little closer, but its always there.

Hi all, my name is Rochelle. I'm a mother of two beautiful little girls, a daughter, a sister, a student, a counselor and (if I do say so myself) a pretty awesome girlfriend.

I started my journey in May of '09 and when I started my primary goal was to stop feeling like my boyfriend was prettier than I was, (seriously, he's gorgeous :)) to never worry that the cute clothes wouldn't be in my size and to really have the confidence and divaliciousness I portrayed to the rest of the world.

My hair was always perfect, my make up was always flawless and my clothes were always on point, but it was all just to cover up what I felt I lacked. What I didn't expect was that as the pounds started to peel off, so did layer after layer of emotions that I'd buried or pushed to the side.

I have slowly come to realize that my weight was an external manifestation of internal issues. I have slowly come to the point where I acknowledge and realize that the extra weight was me hiding from, rather than dealing with painful things in my past. I have moved past merely wanting to be "hot" and come to a place where I want health and wellness. Not just so I can fit into the latest summer fashions (i'm ALWAYS going to have a little diva in me :)) but because I now know i am worthy and deserving of taking the time to take care of me.

Figuring out how I got to where I was has been instrumental in helping me get to where I want to be. I'm lighter now, physically and emotionally. I'm ready to get rid of not only the extra pounds, but the insecurity, isolation and low self esteem days that come with those extra pounds. I've been saying for a long time now "I'll start tomorrow"..well tomorrow is here, I'm ready to rock this and I hope you'll join me.
