i am so happy to be part of this family. i have made some friends along the way that share parts of their lives with me as i share with them. i may never meet them but that's ok.
there's a common bond with everyone and that is we are doing the best we can to make life as pleasant as possible for ourselves and those around us. we are mothers, fathers, sisters, and brothers who have a common br the best we can be.

I'm starting over again. I have not been true to myself and have ruined every gain I have made. My plan is to think before I reach for the wrong food, think to exercise for my health and well being, and not lie to myself saying I'm doing good. So...HERE I GO AGAIN!

My Goals:
to be true to my friends and family but also be true to myself.
to handle with dignity whatever comes my way.
to keep the spirit of God in my soul and be kinder to others.

My Program:
to get through the day without messing up.
to keep my food intake healthy, to keep my exercise program going strong and continually.
and most important...keep good posture.
Do more walking with Leslie and more walking outside. To start using my weights and bands and to not spend so much time on the computer.

Personal Information:
i was born and brought up in a whaling town called new bedford. i am now in attleboro, a small town 2 minutes away from ri. i have 3 children, 5 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren with another one on the way.
i'm a retired nurse but i still work occasionally and i love it.
I'm still working for a health care agency and my days are long. I'm not complaining. I'm not crocheting as I used to but I am now volunteering with SVDP helping those in need.

Other Information:
i am an avid book reader, i belong to a senior strengthening class and a computer class. i'm learning to crochet and i'm not too bad at it. i love walking in front of the tv with leslie sansone.
i occasionally get together with other ladies to play a dice game called "zilch." we have more laughs than play the game. i guess i've said more than enough so that's it.
I'm still playing Zilch with my friends and going to yard sales.
My church and the gospel get me through the week and makes me feel good.

    emoticon Hello! I saw you need support on the Walking/Leslie Sanson team huddle wall. Hang in there! And stop procrastinating! You will feel so good after you walk today. I know I always do. And the more I put it off, the harder it is to make time to get it done each day. I don't know what your personal goals or specific challenges are, but your Spark Friends and Teams are here to support you. We all know how difficult it is some days to get our exercise done or to eat the healthiest foods. Your small steps toward better health and fitness will eventually add up to big changes! So don't give up. Stay consistent, even if you are taking baby steps right now.

    I've been here since Nov. 9, 2009 and have really learned a lot about myself, food, and exercising. I truly feel joining Spark was one of the best decisions I have ever made.
    One of the best tools is the nutrition tracker. You will be shocked when you enter a typical day's food! Try to track everything you eat and stay within your limits. Don’t panic if you slip - we all do! Just put it behind you, you can’t change it, and move on. One of the main concepts at Spark is to take two steps forward for each step back!
    The fitness tracker is also a great tool. You can track your steps, mileage, cardio exercise, and strength exercises. It will tell you how many calories you have burned.
    Take time to make lots of Friends and tell them when you reach a goal or are having a hard time. They are here with praise and support all the time! Don't be afraid to ask any question, no matter how silly you think it is.
    Take time to explore Spark. Read and respond to message boards, blogs, and other members' pages. The help, support, inspiration, motivation, encouragement, and friendship you will receive is awesome! The site can be confusing at times but just keep looking around. There is really a lot of valuable information here!
