Since being at Sparkpeople I have lost 53 lbs. I have 31 lbs to go to get to goal. It has been a long process of trying this and trying that.to final find what works for. me. I am a work in process...It is a mental challenge as well as physical one....For me it took time to learn to love and accept myself..that God loves me and accepts me
even with all my short comings...I am a caregiver to my husband who has dementia..he has entered Hospice..the Drs have given him less than a year to live...Every day is a challenge and thankfully I do not have time to stop and ponder all that I am going through...There is a saying.."If God is all you have then God is all you need." That is certainly proving true for me....I am learning to lean on him...I am blessed to have a good friend who is always there when I need to talk,about anything, who accepts me unconditionally. I take one day at time and learning to face my fears

My Goals:
To be at a healthy weight..BMI...lower my blood pressure..stress less...enjoy life ..look for the blessings..smile more. I have no set time period for this...just doing my best everyday.


My Program:
Dash Diet for Weightloss (Gold book) and lower blood pressure and control my blood sugar...since I have stopped eating wheat and sugar and gluton my inflammation is way down and my depression has improved...walking is my main form of exercise...8 glasses a water a day..positive thoughts and just being good to myself.Lots of self care



Personal Information:
I have Fibromyalgia and CFS...I am extremely tired all the time no matter how much rest or sleep I get. at times my blood pressure can get a little high.. I tend to be depressed mostly in the winter luckily most of these things are manageable through lifestyle changes.I know I do not have control over my future or how long I might live..I do have some control over how healthy I can be,,,,


Other Information:


I have learned that..

You can't go back and change an experience.
You can't make it un-happen.

But you can change how you feel in this moment... about that experience.

You can change how you perceive that experience.

You can change what meaning you give that experience and what suffering or joy you create long after the experience has passed.

    Thanks so much for your comments on my blog. I appreciate the advice. You have done well with the Dash diet, CONGRATS to you. emoticon I need to lose about 60 I think at this point. I was doing well with WW plus logging into myfitnesspal for the calories.....doing both, plus LOTS of Motivation and friendships from Spark which is a blessing for many years. So sorry your husband has dimensia....It must be very difficult. I weigh myself twice a week and take my BP each morning too. It has come down since my dr put me on BP medication and I working harder at losing. I will plan to get that book you recommended.....THe library books are helpful for now to get started.....I would love a 2020 book or updated one, but will have to see.....Happy for you to have been doing so well.Thanks for the motivation......Maybe I can keep in touch once in awhile as I begin this new journey.....Thanks again.....
