May 2019.
This restarting is getting old. But then my health issues are getting more serious too, and I've been able to join Anytime Fitness through work, and get a personal trainer for a few months. Let's see what happens this time?
And anyway, I want enough energy to enjoy the Sabaton concert in November that I just got tickets for. :D

August 2015: And again.
Due to a number of health issues, including 3 rounds of steroids (note to self: only take systemic steroids in future if the only alternative to them is death) I put on a lot more weight. So now, the few pounds I lost in 2014 are back with a few friends. At my worst a few weeks back I weighed nearly 240.
I changed out my comparison image since the 180 as my heavy picture was rather depressing since I'd be thrilled right now to wake up weighing that little.

June 2014:

What I started last year didn't stick at all, and I ended up putting on even more weight, so now instead of around 50 pounds, I need to lose more like 80 or 90. Sigh.

Losing my job in November didn't actually help. I didn't even know my job was being considered for elimination because all anyone had talked about was cutting management, and they've spend 13 years assuring me that I wasn't management, I never would be management, and they sure as heck weren't going to pay me like I was management (even though I ran a small department). HR assured me as they walked me out that I'd have no trouble finding another job.


It's been nearly 7 months, and not even a nibble. Given that my unemployment has run out, and no signs of even some temp jobs on the horizon, at least it will be easier to cut out snack food.

April 2013:

I was almost half way to goal. And then I got sick last fall, and was on prednisone. But it's Spring, I seem to finally be over the worst of whatever that horrid bug we all got was, the one that lingers for months. I'm having arthroscopic knee surgery next week to remove torn cartilage and a large cyst, so early lack of mobility should help cut down on impulse eating, and hopefully after that improved mobility will help with exercise.

My current long term goal is still to get my weight down around 140 to 145.

February 2012: I'm now half way to my goal! The less aggressive time frame means that I feel good if I lose more, and when I have bad weeks, I don't feel bad, which seems to be helping my motivation. I'm switching myself over to a primal/paleo diet, since I've realized that the fewer carbs, and in particular grains, I eat, the less my arthritis seems to act up. I also haven't had to take a prilosec in three weeks, after months of noticing within hours if I missed my morning dose, and occasionally having to double it. I'm not using the calorie tracker at the moment, since the important thing for both my general health and my weight seems to be keeping my carb numbers under 125, the lower the better.

June 2011 Intro Text:

Starting again. Still trying to lose the baby fat. 20 pounds a baby. Plus about another 20, just to keep the first two company. The youngest is now 13, I've been talking about/starting to do this for way too many years, and the nice cardiologist I saw as part of the migraine workup recommended "an agressive weight loss plan".

My Goals:
May 2019:
Ultimately, still 140. Right now 190 by the end of the summer.

August 2015:

Short term: Under 200 by Christmas.
Long Term: I'd like to be back down to 140(ish) in the next year or two.

Short Term: Make it through a 19 credit semester with at worst an A- average.
Long Term: Get that accounting degree within two years, then a job, and maybe go for my CPA certification.

My Program:
Lots of walking, joined a gym, and have a personal trainer for at least the next few months.
Low carb diet, which is already after less than a week helping with my arthritis pain.

I weigh in with Wii Fit Plus every morning when before breakfast.

Right now I'm using a high fat/high protein/very low carb diet. As ortho problems heal, I'll be adding in more strength and/or cardio training.

Personal Information:
I am no longer an unemployed librarian, I am a full time accounting student as I work to change careers, living in Connecticut.

I have a husband, two daughters, ages 19 and 17, as well as 3 rabbits, and three cats, a stray tabby with crossed siamese eyes, and two girls from the humane society, an obese (we've got her down 3 pounds so far!) long hair tabby who looks to be at least part maine coon or norwegian forest and a strange grey and white girl who thinks she's a dog.

    The flowers and blossoms are filling the air with the smells of Spring. This is the time to start preparing for the Summer. Are you ready to join a Challenge? The Biggest Loser Challenge is looking for members for it’s next Challenge starting the first week of June. The challenge consists of 11 Teams, that participate in 10 weeks of Nutritional and Fitness Challenges.
