Hey everyone!
I'm 30 and can't recall a time when I wasn't concerned with my body or with food. Some of my childhood memories only revolve around food, I dream about food, and while I recognize how much healthy habits boost my mood, I am still prone to laziness.

My mom was always on a some fad diet, so this mentality impacted me more than I realize when I was a child. I have been very conscious and ashamed of my shape since I was 10 and I definitely feel like I have not lived life to the fullest because of self-imposed limitations. I am working on it. :) It's really only within the past few years that I have been concerned with the sustainability of lifestyle changes, building health, and accepting my body instead of just wanting to lose weight as quickly as possible.

I have a raging sweet tooth, I love starches, but I also genuinely enjoy exercise (especially bicycling). I love adventure :) I am always looking for new friends with whom I can talk about health/weight loss/fitness, so if you want to be buddies, don't be shy! :)

My Goals:
essentially, I want to look and feel my best.

I'd like to change my perception of and relationship with food, and clean up the way I eat. I'd also like to lose weight and gain flexibility and muscle tone.

outside of diet/exercise, i would like to have a successful year of work and to become an active and productive member of my community. i would like to improve my foreign language skills and focus on being a more optimistic person.

My Program:
--walking, running, jumping rope or other cardio 5x/week
--strength training 2x/week
--pilates on occasion

--eating between 1200 and 1550 calories of fresh foods, and trying to eliminate sugars, high-fat dairy. Maybe someday I will take on my coffee/caffeine overindulgence

Personal Information:
Well, I made this account as a Peace Corps volunteer in Romania (hence the username).

Nearly everyone in my family is overweight, so I am trying to break this trend!

My favorite vegetable is probably broccoli. My favorite fruit is blueberries. And I love buckwheat kasha -- good thing, since it is so common in Ukraine! :)

My #1 hobby is knitting! I want to learn how to sew, too.

Other Information:
My favorite books are "The Alchemist" and "The Little Prince"

I love learning! I am obsessed with taking courses on coursera and edx! :)
