Currently, my new favorite workout is running! It is hard, and most of the time I want to quit, but I make it through and want to come back for more. I began doing the C25K training program in August of 2012, and I just finished my first 5K race, on 10/21/12. I hit all the goals I had for myself, and I am continuing on with running, training for a 10K using the same program. And, if I can do it, anyone can! I always told myself I could not be a runner, though inside I longed to be, and now I am! I don't run particularly fast, but one of my favorite quotes is this : "no matter how slow I go, I am still lapping everyone on the couch"!

Sparkpeople has been so great for tracking my journey. If I can't see it, how can I know where I am at with my goals? I also look forward to the community interaction here too, and often am inspired by others. I am a beautiful, fun-loving woman, but my weight sometimes holds me back, although I am pretty comfortable in my own skin. I want to be more fit and strong, not skinny, but healthy.

I came back from a Hawaiian vacation in mid-October, and I rocked a two-piece the entire time I was there. I was proud of myself for having the confidence to do so, though I am not nearly to my perfect body...yet! I am continuing on this journey to get more and more fit, and to be the best version of myself!

    Hey Dawn! I work full-time for a Medical Bill Review company for the workman's comp industry, so that's my job. I am not married and don't have kids, but I am very close with my two brothers, sister-in-law and nephews, so I stay busy keeping connected with them. When not working, I like to read, watch movies, love tennis, biking, checking out new hot spots in the city, traveling, spending time with friends.

    Portland is great for outdoor activities, as well as lots of independent eateries, shops, etc. and all kinds of cool neighborhoods to check out. Favorite workouts are anything Shaun T from Beachbody does, I love all his dance workouts. I also love to ride my bike to local tennis courts and just hit the ball on my own, and walking too. I enjoy doing light yoga, and then have been trying to work in strength training but I haven't quite got it yet, but I'm working on it.

    That is great you have your own fitness sound like a very busy woman, but great to learn more about you :)

    Thanks for adding me! I love your page!! So...what keeps you busy during the day? Do you have a favorite workout?
    I have a 5yr old that keeps me on my toes….a house to keep up (like all of us woman...LOL), and a full time job as a business analyst. I also own my own fitness business... which is where my heart is!!! I get to help others by sharing with them the products that have worked for me. My passion for life, leading a healthier lifestyle, & thriving to better myself (inside & out) daily has completely changed since I committed to being a fitness coach.
    I LOVE to spend my summers outside doing yard work, soaking up the sun, or playing games with the family. I really look forward to getting to know each other better - Take care!

    I use some different BeachBody workouts- Brazil Butt Lift, Shaun T's Hip Hop Abs and Rockin' Body, and Yoga Booty Ballet. I also like Gaiam for yoga DVDs, particularly Rodney Yee. I just did Nicole Eggert's Red-Hot 21 day Bikini Makeover workout too, which was fun.
