My name is Sue and I live in Upstate NY near Syracuse in a small town. I'm married and I have two children who are both grown and on their own. I also have two grandchildren. I have four fur babies: one dog and three cats. I like to walk when I can. I broke my ankle back in February and it didn't heal right. So I have to be careful not to aggravate it. I also have back and joint issues. I enjoy knitting, crocheting gardening, reading, word and number games, and traveling. I have Bipolar 2 and Generalized Anxiety Disorder. When I was initially misdiagnosed with unipolar depression about 10-12 years ago, I weighed 114 pounds. When I joined SP this June I weighed 220. Meds, moods and misinformed doctors. My daughter got into SP and lost a lot of weight plus changed her eating and exercise habits. I decided to give it a try myself, so here I am!

Hi there. It appears we have much in common. I will be 58 this month, and restarting Sparkpeople after being gone a while. I lost 60 pounds in 2008, but have managed to gain it all back. I live in rural Nevada with my husband of 34 years, and have 2 grown children and one grandbaby, as well as 2 dogs and a cat. I am tired of being in pain,,,my back and hips hurt with all this extra weight. I broke my foot in October, and it's still healing, so my exercise has been limited. I am hoping to find the control I had 10 years ago, and lose this weight by summer so I feel like doing things again. I hope we can support each other. Take care and Happy New Year!

I mentioned to my fiancé, Austin I wonder how much the cheapest pedometer costs. He said why I don't walk that much. I was just curious how many steps I do take by walking around the house and in and out to stores we go to. I bet walking back and forth letting dogs in and out, walking back and forth from kitchen taking care of this and that, doing all the small things I do would add up. What do you think, would it just be a waste of money? Just wondering how wrong I am about this.

Glad to hear that it is just the cough of the flu left. As for my eye it is almost completely healed, swelling is almost all gone and only hurts a little bit. All a doctor would do is make it hurt more by draining it with a needle. I hate needles, thinking of one being that close to my eye scares me way to much. All can do about that is keep putting a warm compress on it and take pain medicine. My old doctor quit so have a new PCP but don't see her until alter the first. What have you tried for your cough anyway, something to coat your throat? The way it looks I think should be all the way better by end of weekend. If the pinkness of the white of my eye gets any worse you can count on me going to Urgent Care for that. Since it looked and felt like it does when an allergy bothers my eye took eye drops for allergies and that is what caused my eye to get redder. So if the pink gets any worse on Monday will go see someone about that. Take care and God bless you. Wishing you a wonderful weekend.

You are very welcome. Anytime that's what friends are for. Hmmm still have flu symptoms isn't time for Tamiflu? Isn't it time to call doctor? As for my eye I am wondering if there was more than one stye there, cause there is another head forming. Chocolate and peppermint is my passion LOL I put peppermint creamer in my hot chocolate. Hope you have a great weekend also.

You are very welcome, and you are doing fine with your Spark People duties on keeping in touch with all of us. Sue as for the chocolate cravings when stressed, try eating just a small piece of dark chocolate cause read that is supposed to be good for you. Better yet sugar free chocolate just eat small amounts of that also, it does give a laxative effect if eat too much. LOL. The stye on my eye bottom eye lid is still a pain, if would come to a head and burst that would help a lot. After it does that then it can heal. Again can't let the holiday stress you so much, not good for you health. Do what you can is all you can do. Hope you are feeling better. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon
