Hi my name is Melissa. I am 44 yrs old and a proud life-long Nebraskan. I currently live in North Platte (and NP native), but I have lived in Kearney and Omaha. I am a busy mother of three young daughters, ages 15, 13 and 10. I work as an Administrative Assistant, so I spend a lot of time sitting in a chair, but I do really like my job. Finding time to take care of myself is a challenge. I am working toward changing old habits one day at a time. It is time to move more, eat less and make healthier food choices.

Fitness Minutes: 41,643

My Goals:
-I will lose 20 pounds by the new year (2013) to achieve better health and prove to my self that I have the inner strength to achieve this and other goals in my life.
*not quite achieved - I lost 16 lbs by New Year 2013, but staying positive

-I want to be a good role model for my children.

My Program:
For the first time since I first used SP years ago, I am using the nutrition guide and recording my food intake. It is a lot more fun and convenient now that I can use the app on my phone to record my food throughout the day. I am also trying to walk as much as I can.

Also want to squeeze in more weights and toning exercises, but I really need to work harder on these. They are my least favorite forms of exercise, but I think that it would be beneficial to my weight loss if I strengthened my muscles.(especially upper body) It is a habit that I am wanting to form.

Now I also need to adjust some bad habits. Like eating better and organizing my time and home.

The more I exercise, the better I eat because I do not want to sabatage my own efforts.

    Welcome to the NE team. I am also a mom of 3 with a daycare in my house. I live in Northeast NE.
    We are doing a thankgiving challenge right now where we record all the minutes we are active and post them. Just jump right in if you like and don't be afraid to ask questions or ask for help.
    Congrats on you weight loss so far. That is awesome!!!
