Thank you for commenting on my blog.

The price for the Jenny Craig Rapid Results Max program is $174 a week after the $199 fee of a 2 year enrollment. I have to lose 50 pounds so I knew I would be here for a bit so I did the 2 year program.

I have lost 17 pounds in 5-6 weeks. (in the middle of my 6th week). At first I was appalled at how expensive it was. But if I counted up what I probably would eat in a week , it would be about $75-100 a week depending upon if I went out to eat or not. so the remaining $75-100 would go to Jenny for all the food prep, counseling, and variety so you don't have to think of anything. That is where I go off a diet a lot. I need variety.

You eat 1200 calories a day, and don't eat for 14 hours in that day. That is how it works. The food is very good, you just don't get to eat a lot of it and you fill it out with Veggies to fill you up a bit more. I eat pizza, cake, pasta, chicken sandwiches, hamburgers and eggs and pancakes, the list goes on. I am not eating Keto, which I know works, but I have to have a cookie and bread every once in a while. I have to get used to eating veggies as I realized I didn't eat veggies very much before. I cover them with mustard , because it tastes better to me. I am finally moving that scale. I hope to be down 50 pounds by summer and then go into the less expensive program of maintenance. ( about $12 a day instead of $25).

If you join this program make sure you pick a HIGH goal weight so when you get to that goal weight you can then decide to go on maintenance or move your goal weight down and continue with the 1200 calorie diet. You can never move it up after you say what your goal weight is going to be, so chose wisely. I want to be 120, but I said 140. That would be 30 pounds for me. I haven't been 120 since my wedding 22 years ago! So saying 120 would not be smart if I realized that I wanted to be on maintenance at a higher weight. So you can always lower it, not raise it. That is one of the most important things to know going into this program.

By the way, I am hungry everyday. It has become easier for me, but I am always hungry at some point of the day. Exercising over what you normally do would not be a good idea. It stresses your body out and then you don't lose weight anymore. Don't ask me why, it just does.
Example. I walk 10k a day. I was losing heaps of weight and then I stopped losing when I went to 20K. I was also exhausted and very light headed. They told me to stop walking so much and I did and the scale went down immediately.

Good luck. The program works. If nothing else is working for you, I would consider it. Is $100 a week extra worth it to you? We used the stimulus money for it. I am so so so glad I did it. It is not easy, dieting never is, but they take a lot of "what am I going to have for dinner question " away from me. The food tastes good and I appreciate the variety.

Hi and welcome to Sparkpeople. Congrats on the move to a healthier lifestyle. Take it one step, one day at a time. Monitor what you eat, drink plenty of water and get exercise. By joining teams, and being active on them....by posting on the teams and taking part in the challenges & team goals...it really helps with encouragement, support and motivation. Check out the teams on my page or do a search for ones with your interests. If I can be of any help, please let me know.
