New Beginnings ~ Manifesting the life of My Dreams
I often ask myself " Why is my life blossoming in to a wonderful dream come true?" And God answers back with all of my hearts desires.

Great is His Faithfulness
Lamentations 3:22-25 It is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness. The Lord is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in Him. The Lord is good unto them that seek Him.

My weight loss journey started March 18th 2007- I was 204 lbs and my back and knees hurt , and none of my clothes fit me. I was tired of being uncomfortable and FAT.
My current weight is155lbs- I reached my weight loss goal!!!! Next I will be adding more lean muscle- stay posted more transformation to come............

My Story
How did I lose over 44lbs, and transform my body in 12 months.

and a good MP3 player.

I made gradual changes. I started off slow. I started with the mind set that I would give myself 1 year to see what changes I could make with my body. The only cardio I did for months was walking. I lost 30lbs walking 5 to 6 days a week. Notice that 30 lbs is the majority of my weight loss. So to all my walking friends don't give up you can do it. I now do 3 to 4 days of High Intensity Interval Training for about 20- 25 min on the elliptical machine. This is tough, but you get great results in less time.

I started my strength training off slow and steady. I lifted for

months and I really didn't see any results. My muscles were underdeveloped and covered with layers of fat. My body fat % was over 35% when I started. I'm down in the mid to low 20s now. Again if you are strength training and not seeing results hang in there.

I have been going to gym on a regular basis for over a year now and this is what I notice about most women. 1) They are doing the right exercise, and training but they are not doing enough of the right stuff. They do a few reps and walk around the gym looking lost. Don't be afraid of the weights and
don't be afraid to put in work Always go to the gym with a plan and with purpose. 2) Many women give up before they see the results. Trust me just as recent as January I wanted to give up. I kept thinking to myself I'm not seeing the results I want and I can't imagine working any harder than what I am right now. This is when I learned that it is not always how hard you work but what you doing. I had to make modifications to my diet, my weight training and to my cardio and 8 weeks later my muscles started to pop out a little bit. I use to visualize tight and well-defined muscle under all my fat. I would tell myself the muscle is there but it is covered up with fat keep going.

I didn't give up I just believed that if I kept at it I would start to see results.
I wasn't always consistent I took days off, I even took weeks off, but I never gave up. I always got back at it. Over the 12 month period I made several modifications to my program which keep things moving and interesting. I worked in 3 months increments, changing my strength training and making more changes to my diet.
In terms of my diet- once again I made gradual changes. I didn't start eliminating things out of my diet all at once. I also added new things like using whey protein, and more chicken and complex carbs. I haven't got the diet thing down completely, but hey I have time to continue working on it. My goal is to one day eat 100% clean. I'm getting there.
My snack staples are sugar free jello, and light lays potato chips and slim fast peanut butter crunch bars.

What have I learned over his past year.

I learned that often times just like in life, we give up to soon and are breakthrough are truly just around corner. I was feeling hopeless and frustrated with my legs. They wouldn't respond. Then one days I looked at them and I could see changes and I was like WOW! Now think about what if I would have given up in my despair and frustration. I would have never seen the results.

I learned that in whatever we do we must remain persistent. I'm not the most talented or skilled person at training, but I am seeing results because I just simply kept showing up at the gym.

Transformation is a continual process and it never, ever ends. I started off my transformation journey thinking that when I got to the end. I would have that "perfect" body and since it's been a journey that included other life areas, I believed that my life would also be in perfect order. Well, I have accomplished so many wonderful goals, but I'm still learning and growing, and I am strangely at peace with all of that.

For over a year I have been completely intrigued by Monarch Butterflies. I'm beginning to see some connections. See Monarch are gentle, majestic , strong and amazing creatures. Each year they make an amazing journey from Canada to Mexico and then the turn around and do it all over again. Interestingly enough not one single butterfly makes the entire trip. The butterflies mate when they are unable to continue and their off spring complete the journey. See Monarch only live for a couple of weeks. With the exception of a super generation which lives for about 4 to 7 months. I love Monarchs in the spring, I remember one day I decided to see how many I could manifest in my presence in one day. I stopped counting at 20+. I would ponder why do they keep making this same journey over and over again? Now at the one-year mark of my own journey it's starting to make sense. They make the journey over and over again because transformation never ends it keeps going and going. Monarchs are a true example of strength and persistency. Many times when the female butterflies get to the end of their lives their beautiful wings are tattered and torn and they cant fly anymore they crawl around to lay their last potential offspring so that the journey can continue. Never, never ,ever give up!

Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination are omnipotent. The slogan 'press on' has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race.

After I got through the tears, I realized that our stories are extremely similar. I am that one that gives up before seeing results. I have the frame of mind that results should be instant. Well, being 70+lbs overweight, and reading yours and others stories, I am learning that it took time for the weight to be gained and it will take that much longer to lose it. Thanks, you truly inspired me. And with all of the exercise equipment at home I need, it will no longer be sitting there collecting dust. It won't have time.
