THE PITFALLS OF HEALTH....

Wednesday, May 07, 2008

I'M THINKING IT OWULD BE A WHOLE LOT EASIER TO LOSE WEIGHT IF I COULD BREATHE, BUT MY ALLERGIES ARE SO MAKING MY ASTHMA FLARE UP. IT'S REALLY NOT VERY FUN, B/C JUST WALKING TO ANOTHER DEPARTMENT HERE AT WORK IS RATHER ANNOYING! I CAN'T HELP BUT NOT EXERCISE, B/C I GET WINDED SO QUCIKLY! emoticon

i am sorry to hear you are having such a hard time...i know for me, when i first started, just taking a shower winded me... anything more meant a full blown asthma attack... just take it one day...one step at a time.... walk to the next department... and then later...do it again... this helps build strength in your broncil slowly... might try other excercises as well..like strength training.... or shadow boxing... every little bit is better than none.

    I hear ya!

Take Omega-3 supplements, drink lots of hot tea. Both are good for asthma. I have also read that the JUDDDD diet (aka alternate day diet) is beneficial for inflammatory disease including asthma. You can either read about it at the Friends of Dr. Johnson team or go to his website which I think is www.alternatedaydiet.com (not sure and my computer isn't wanting to go anywhere right now). I am doing JUDDDD but have only been on it for a week so can't say personally if it is helping or not.

    Good luck.
