This week I was pleased to see another pound gone. My weight loss curve has really flattened out but I am still pleased that the line is heading down. I have so much more energy than I used to have and I am finally learning to feel good about myself.

I think if I weren't learning to feel good about myself the weight loss would be much harder. It is easier to eat good foods in appropriate quantities when I want to increase my health. A big change from eating destructively out of self-hatred or to provide numbness.

Today I discovered I really do like regular activity. I worked in a small space in DH's office and really missed my normal gym time. I am so glad to be allowed to start riding my bicycle again. Last week my ortho doc told me to limit the distance to 15 miles at a time and gradually add distance as my leg tolerated it. Tomorrow I am going to try to do a 20 mile ride. I was thrilled to need all new lycra road bike shorts and I was thrilled to actually have a choice in brands and colors - what a difference from the last time I needed bike shorts 2 years ago.!
