Need some prayer

Monday, July 28, 2008

For the past couple of days I have been in alot of pain from my OSTEO Arthritis-as I know alot of you have and the rain does not help..I cannot take any harsh pain meds or Ibuprofen cause of my kidneys and the weight loss surgery--SO i can only take x-strength Tylenol which does not help much--and I am only allowed to take 1 Tylenol Arthritis a day--so i do not even bother--just taking the x-tylenol.. I need to get myself motivzed as every bone in my body hutts so bad and I can hardly move.. I am 46 and feel like i am 80 sometimes between this and the diabetic complications I have.. Just need some prayers and thoughts from my fellow SP to get me in gear I think and force myself to exercise and loosen up those creeky bones--I was doing so well there for a while and now i feel like i am burning out and i do not want that.

You're in my prayers now too. I'm hoping that the rainy weather will let up a bit, and that you'll be able to deal with the pain. Sounds like some good suggestions for helping with that. I have an old stationary bike that I'd love to give you, if you are close enough for me to bring it to you. I'm in southwest Missouri. Let me know if I can help.

Hoping the pain is letting up some for you. The rainy weather we have had this summer certainly does not help. What about a stationary bike? Have you tried one? I had to get one last year after multiple surgeries on my right leg. I can walk outside some now that the weather is nice, but the bike keeps me moving all year round - good weather or bad weather. Good luck.

I pray that God will supernaturally heal you and free you of this pain and others who are going through the same. Yes, the pool is wonderful for your joints. I was having a lot of pain in my joints - still do sometimes, but I do water exercises and it has helped tremendously. The stationary bike helps also, Sometimes I have a time lifting my leg over because I am short, but the water exercises has worked really well for me.

You are in my thoughts & prayers!

Not any fun when our joints can tell what the weather is going to be like! I too suffer with health challenges, Extra strength Arthritis Tylenol barely takes the edge off the pain.

The Arthritis Foundation has a low-impact CD available called: Take Control with Exercise. I've been trying to get through more & more of this each day. Last week I couldn't get my left leg off the floor & now I can hold it up for a count of 3. Plus I'm trying to keep time to music, while sitting at my computer. Every little bit of movement has been helping.

Today I actually walked 20 feet without the use of my crutches. I'm working towards using my walker, then back to my cane.

I am only 26 and I have had days like this..... it's hard to get past. Maybe you should try water exercises those are really low impact and allow your joints to relax a little because there is not so much pressure on them. My prayers are with you that the pain goes away.... When I used to have really painful days I always took 4 tylenol arthritis like every 6 hours which is way too much and could have been really dangerous but I have kids and had to be able to move... I never found out exactly what causes my flare ups but I haven't had any bad ones lately.... I hope you get to feeling better soon....

Hi Sue, Well I have quite a bit of pain in my knees that has stopped me from exercising so I am buying a bike. It has much less impact on the knees but also gets them moving, with even a larger range of motion so more calories are burned. I am also trying to build up muscle on my legs at the gym and that seems to be helping me alot with the pain and also the flexibility. There is alot more stiffness when I don't move. I hope that this helps a little, maybe the weather will change the sunshine always helps. Good luck to you.
