First Week on Sparkpeople

I cannot believe how much information I have access to with this website. I am so glad that I have found this wonderful place full of many inspirational people to help me get through each day. I find myself on this website for hours just taking in all the information I can about how to better myself and make healthy choices. The reason I am on here so much is because I only have a part time job and am waiting for college to start up in a couple of weeks so I have quite a bit of time on my hands. I can not even begin to write one full blog on everything that I have learned here but here are a few....
1.) I need to work really hard on lowering my Sodium intake.
2.) I am slowly beginning to cut out ALL processed food. I know this will also help lower my Sodium intake as well.
3.) Incorporating a strength training program is very important for weight loss and for my muscles and bones to stay strong. I am learning more and more about this subject and how to go about making a strength training program.
4.) I know I still need to learn more about calories when it comes to working out and how much to take in a day. There are some days that I burn 1000 or more calories and I need to learn how much calories I should eat when burning this many calories.
5.) I have learned that without my team members pushing me and just looking at some of my friends' websites I would never have all the motivation I now have to take on the world of fitness. On days I don't feel like hitting the gym all I have to do is look at a couple of my friends web pages and the differences they have made in their own lives and I am out the door!
