Dad needs your prayers again....

My Dad was taken from the Rehab Hospital back to the regular hospital yesterday, he had another heart attack, and is in ICU again.
This past Saturday my oldest Son Kris drove down to Southern NM to see my Dad at the Rehab facility. He was able to talk to Dad's doctor and found out several things that the nurses nor the doctor have even told us. Dad had an MRI earlier last week and the results were that he had a stroke at the same time as the major heart attack two weeks ago. The MRI showed that he had also had several smaller strokes and a few bigger strokes in the past. He is unable to walk at all, he has as kidney and lung infection. He also has water in his lungs so is not able to have ice or even regular water to drink, as the Dr is not sure why he has the water on the lungs unless the stroke caused his swallow reflex to stop working.
He has had over 10+ back surgeries in the past and is in constant pain so therefore he is heavily medicated just to make it through life, probably the reason the strokes were not noticed before now.
Dad has to be lifted by two nurses to a chair to then go the the bathroom. My mother recently got out of the hospital, can hardly walk and there is just NO WAY that he can come home as she cannot take care of him. Dad has memory loss, talks randomly and starts to say something about one topic then says something entirely different, and he is severely depressed.
DH and I are planning on driving down to southern NM this coming Friday and visiting him, we will only have three days and it is between 11-12 hours each way, of course we had planned to go down before we found out that he had another heart attack, now I am just praying that he is still alive. The last I heard he was possibly being taken to surgery, and have not had an update yet.
I just want the Lord's will be done in all of this, I do not want him to suffer, he really wants to go home and at this point I do not ever see that happening. My mother has a bad heart had a pacemaker inserted just this past year, she can't walk very good need to have two knee replacements, a shoulder replacement and the Doctors don't think that her lungs or heart would make it through any surgery at all. On top of all of this I have a sister who is 52 years old, severely retarded and cannot walk at all that my parents have taken care of since she was born, I can't Rose color the situation in any way. I am the only other living child so all of this is falling on my shoulders and right now I am coping but when I really think of all of the possibilities I wonder how.
If you are reading this blog be sure to keep my Dad in your prayers. Thanks to all of my Spark Friends who have supported me through all of this and also prayed. LOL ~ Janel :)
