“Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it.”- Proverbs 22:6
Train them and they won't turn away. Most people understand this verse just as I have written. They often forget the, "when they are old" part. Well this verse can add to more than our faith in God. In our case to our eating and exercise habits. For most of us we were trained in proper dietary habits, but somewhere along the line we forget. Usually when we get our drivers license and jobs; eating out and at odd times. The good news is that eventually we remember those things, eating right and exercise. Just as we don't turn our backs on our health, our Father doesn't turn His back on us. Sometimes we simply need a kick in the pants to remember all He has to offer us. Because of the sacrificial death of Jesus and His resurrection we can stand before the Father personally and ask for His help on all things. Prayer is a powerful tool, and one of the first things we are trained in as a child. Our use of it is the key to being in contact with our Lord.
