My Lap Band Post-Op Appointment
Thursday, October 01, 2009
Well, on Friday, October 2nd it will be officially 2 weeks ago that I had my lap band surgery. So far so good. To be honest I don’t feel like I’ve even had surgery. The only time it’s obvious is when something slips through the banded part of my stomach.
Yesterday I went to my Doctor’s office for my post-op appointment and was a little nervous. I got there early and ran into a lady who had been in my “learning”. She had surgery 2 weeks before me and has done okay – her port incision had been infected. My incisions are all clean and have healed nicely. I no longer have pain or anything.
My doctor’s name is Dr. Britt – he is WONDERFUL! When I weighed in at his office I was 17 lbs lighter than before surgery. He said that was great progress and that everyone is different. I will go back to see him on October 28th for my 1st possible fill – unless (as he said) I don’t feel like I need it yet.
This new journey so far has been a GREAT experience. I’ve not gotten sick one time. I am completely back to normal and right on track.
I plan to blog about this and hopefully in the future post pictures on occasion.
The Lap Band Teams here on SP have been very informative, supportive and so very helpful. If you ever consider this type of surgery I recommend joining these teams. I’ve learned a lot more than I knew previously.
So 17 lbs and counting. . . . healthier me – HERE I COME!!!
