Living On A Shoestring

Wednesday, October 28, 2009

I am a coupon clipper and shop at grocery stores who offer 10 for $10, double and triple coupon days. After a house fire took a lot of my household and clothes, I became a Goodwill shopper as one person's trash is another one's treasure. I have been able to buy complete outfits for under $20, books as cheap as $.50 and they offer half price days and specials. It take some time to sipper through some of the merchandise but well worth the time and money. Even able to buy designer and special items at a price I could never get at a mall. I feel I've found a gold mine. Try it for yourself.

I like to look at my closet, in magazines and catalogs to check out the latest styles and shop the Thrift stores and Goodwills to update my closet. It's a form of therapy as I have a church member who accompanies me. She has a good eye for the good stuff!

I don't want to spend a lot of money on new clothes until I am sure I am going to keep off the weight, so I have bought some at a Goodwill but unfortunately the ones that are the closest are the worst ones.

I love thrift stores. You can find just about anything there. You are right...it takes a while to sift through all the clothes...but you can find some great things if you are patient. And when you are changing your size it's a perfect place to shop.

I love discount, consignment and Goodwill stores! I live near Marietta and Roswell and we have some great ones! Where do you live?
