MY SHOULDER IS COMING ALONG SINCE MONDAY WHEN I HAD THE SURGERY ON IT--I AM IN ALOT OF PAIN--AND I AM ON STRONG PAIN MEDS--THAT I THINK THEY ARE MAKING ME HIGH lol--THEY ARE ALMOST GONE AND I AM NOT GONNA ASK FOR ANY MORE--I WILL JUST GO BACK TO THE TRAMADOL I USUALLY TAKE FOR MY CHRONIC PAIN--BUT HOPERFULLY A LITTLE BIT OF A STRONGER DOSE.. I CANNOT TAKE ANY KIND OF IBUPROFEN--CAUSE OF MY WEIGHT LOSS SURGERY AND ALSO MY KIDNEY DISEASE--BUT ANYWAYS--THO THE PAIN IS SEVERE--IT IS BEARABLE IN A DIFFERENT WAY THEN THE PAIN I HAD BEFORE THE SURGERY--I HAD LOTS OF SPURS IN THERE AND MY RC REPAIRED--I GO FOR MY FOLLOW UP APPT ON TUES--SO I WILL SEE WHAT THE ORTHO SURGEON SAYS.. I WAS WONDERING FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO HAD SHOULDER SURGERY OR ANY KIND OF ORTHO SURGURY LIKE MINE-IF YOU WERE ALL BLACK AND BLUE--MOST OF MY SHOULDER AND UPPER ARM AND UNDER NEATH ARE BLACK AND BLUE--JUST FIGURED IT WAS CAUSE OF ALL THE SCRAPING THAT HAD TO BE DONE IN THERE--I ALSO WAS HAVING SOME IRRITATION FROM THE PAPER TAPE THEY USED==WHICH IS NOT SUPPOSED TO IRRITATE THE SKIN--BUT MY SKIN IS SENSITIVE..
ANYWAYS--MY SHOULDER AND UPPER AND UNDER ARM LOOKS LIKE SOMEONE HIT ME WITH A BASEBALL BAT lol--JUST WONDERING IF THIS IS NORMAL.. I AM DOING GOOD WITH MY MOBILITY--MOVING IT MORE AND MORE EACH DAY-AND IT IS HARD TO KEEP IT IN A SLING TOO LONG AS MY ARM GETS MORE SORE--EVEN IF I KEEP IT OUT OF THE SLING TOO LONG--SO EITHER WAY--THERE SEEMS TO BE NO HAPPY MEDIUM--lol--I AM GLAD I HAD THE SURGERY AND I KNOW THAT EVERY DAY I WILL BE CLOSER TO BEING COMPLETELY HEALED AND I KNOW THAT THE LORD IS HOLDING M HANDS AND I HAVE GREAT FRIENDS THAT I KNOW WHO ARE PRAYING FOR ME--THANKS ALL FOR YOUR PRAYERS AND I PRAY THAT YOU HAD A GREAT THANKSGIVING AND SURE PRAY THAT YOU ALL HAVE A SUPER GLORIOUS CHRISTmas!!!!!!!!!!!!
BIG HUGS TO YOU ALL.

I have Vicodin in the house for constant back pain but usually end up only taking one or two before the prescription expires. The pain exhausts me but the Vicodin makes me so high I could clean the house, wash both cars, cut the grass, do the grocery shopping and put a fresh coat of paint on the bathroom before I come down. I hope you are feeling better soon. Don't overdue it either.

Glad you made it through your surgery! Yes, I had some bruising too that lasted two weeks. It's been 41 days since my surgery and my shoulder is much better. The orthopedic surgeon said that it may take up to a year before I know the full extent of the good from the surgery, but I can tell you it is way better than it was and getting stronger each day. I no longer need to prop it with a pillow all night and it doesn't keep me awake any longer. So, hang in there each day will be better, God bless you!

I have had surgery on my left shoulder twice and RC repair on my right shoulder. It sounds like you are getting along pretty well. I don't remember that much bruising with any of those surgeries, but I did have tremendous bruising with my foot surgeries. I guess everyone is a little different. If they offer more pain meds, my advice is to take them. You may not need much, but you will have them when you do. Also, you will be starting physical therapy soon and you may need the pain meds then.
Anyway, I will be praying for your speedy recovery. God bless you! He will surely be with you every step of the way.

There is often a lot of bruising into the tissues with orthopedic surgeries. Continuing to wish you a speedy recovery!!
