Using the George Forman Grill

Sunday, November 29, 2009

I have had a George Forman Grill for years and never really used it much.... so I decided to bring it to NYC for DB to use. One of the things we are working on while I am here is shopping, cooking and meal planning. He really needs to find ways to stretch his money and ordering all his meals delivered is very expensive. In the past, that is what he pretty much did exclusively. It is difficult to shop for groceries here.. no question about that... but many facets of life can be difficult. Anyway, back to George Forman. I have been using it and am very impressed with consistent results. I did a grilled pork chop and it was tender and flavorfull. Also did a grilled ham and cheese sandwich that turned out like a panini and was good. I think it will work well for him and the clean-up was easy. I would reccommend it. If anyone has other easy ideas for using the grill please let me know.

Hugs,
Rhonda

Ahhhhh George and Salmon go together like a horse and carriage. We do a Salmon that is 'killer'...it tastes very mesquite flavored.

First soak the salmon in milk for about a half hour (takes out the fishy flavor) then smear on some mayo, then put cracked green, black, white, and a little red pepper on it. Add a smidge of cumin for that little somethin' somethin' !

Throw it on George just a few minutes since it cooks on both sides at once...and whoop da...a salmon that is worthy of any fine restaurant for a fraction of the price.

Our Josh who HATED fish ....loved what George did for Salmon..and of course his momma's great recipe..hope your DB likes it too! emoticon emoticon

Grilled veggies, boneless-skinless chicken breasts are great on the Forman. I also like burgers and hot dogs on it too.

Hi Rhonda, I have the grill and i love it. I've used it for hamburgers, grilled veggies, fish, chicken tenders, and even steak. Anything boneless cooks up fine. What I like best is that it's quick and the cleanup is easy.

Well there is nothing too extraordinary for my typical use - grilling salmon. :) LOVE it!
