The Letterman Scoop

Hi my spark buddies! Today was FUN and visiting the Letterman show was a nice way to end my stay here in NYC. I'm leaving to go home tomorrow and DH and I are jumping in excitement. Nothing like a 3 week absence to make the ol heart grow fonder! Anyway, I digress.... you can see what is on my mind... back to Letterman. DB and I got VIP tickets from one of his friends who works make-up there at Letterman and that was really great as we didn't have to wait outside in the line. It is cold cold cold here today so getting into the theatre early was really VIP treatment and we had front row mezzanine seats to boot. I was sitting next to the head writer for "One Life to Live" so I gave him a few story ideas! LOL All these tranny hooker Jerry Springer shows I have been watching have me thinking he could incorporate a little action! Whoops... I digress again... back to Letterman. He came on stage and visited with the audience a bit before the show which is a nice touch. Then he did his opening monologue (sp?) and his top 10 list was Tiger's text messages. That was pretty funny. He cracked a few jokes about his own situation to lighten up Tiger's problems which I thought was fitting. Kate Hudson was the guest today and she is gorgeous and very SKINNY. She had on a tight, very short, black sparkly dress that she had to keep pulling down. I was afraid it would end up around her waist! She really didn't want to talk about A-Rod. Dave tried to but she avoided it and just laughed. She said "why don't we talk about the holidays?" Dave said.. "okay.. let's talk about Thanksgiving!" She just laughed and really kept mum about her personal life. So no scoop for you on that front. The musical guest was Tori Amos and she sang a song from her new CD. Then the other guest was an expert on global warming who just came out with a book. Judging from that interview we are all doomed.
Here are a few photos for your viewing pleasure. Hugs to you all, Rhonda
I should mention that photography isn't allowed in the studio. I couldn't resist however and had to get a couple of shots. They don't let you keep the VIP ticket so had to get a photo! The set photo is after the show ended but if you look close you will see Letterman and Tori Amos over at the piano. I'm lucky they didn't kick me out but I did get yelled at for snapping the picture.
Here are a couple of other shots of Holiday decorations that I just thought were stunning. The 3 Dimensional stars are at the mall over in the Time Warner building (Columbus Circle). These stars change colors with the music. The Ornament Sculpture is in a plaza on 5th Avenue around 48th.
