Christmas Cookies and the Tree

Wednesday, December 16, 2009

Hi Spark Friends!

Finished up the tree decorating and never did find those red balls! I used gold balls instead and they look just fine so crisis averted. It is nice to have this project finished. I have done WAY less decorating this year than usual but being out of town for 3 weeks over the "season" made a big dent in my time. Today however my granddaughter asked where the "red fire engine" was that we always put out. I told her that it was still in the attic but I would ask Grandpa to dig it out. If she missed it then it obviously is important to her.

I watched Peyton after school today and we had a good time. I did a 4 mile walking DVD and she walked along with me for part of it. Afterwards I asked her if she wanted a snack and typically I make her a sliced banana topped with whipped cream and a little chocolate syrup with sprinkles. She wanted to make her own today and did a pretty good job.

We also rolled out some Christmas cookies (I made up the dough this morning) and that was fun. We didn't have time to put on the icing but they were still cute just plain. I may attempt to ice them and sprinkle on some nuts or peppermint crumbles to make a bit more festive.

I wanted to get my Christmas cards done today but didn't even get those started. I have several appointments tomorrow so hopefully will have a chance to get those going at some point.

Did I mention that my DH ordered me one of those new e-book readers last month for my birthday? It is the Barnes and Noble "Nook" and it is pretty darn cool. Anyway, it has been on back-order and finally arrived today. I had noticed that they were selling for a good premium on e-Bay as they are sold out and new orders won't be delivered until Jan/Feb sometime. Anyway, I discussed with DH and told him we could make a quick $100 sellling mine on eBay and I could just re-order it as I was in no hurry. .I have several other books right now to finish so it just seemed like an easy way to make a buck. He was cool with that so I listed it on eBay and Pow! I got a buy it now within hours and made over $100 bucks. Have to take advantage of the opportunities! LOL.

Hope everyone had a good day today and that the Holiday "Stress" isn't getting too high.

Hugs to all,
Rhonda

I cannot WAIT to have grandkids! (However, I will clobber my daughter if she has one right now...she's only 17.) You are making memories with her she will ALWAYS have. I still have wonderful ones of spending time with my Nana.
Your tree is beautiful...just the way it is.
Sorry I haven't been able to post on your blogs lately...AT&T showed up last night at 6:45pm. They had said they would have it restored by 7pm Thursday. They did it with 15 minutes to spare... emoticon

Oh boy...I see a new "Iron Chef" at your house! How cute your little granddaughter is! And observant too..to miss the red fire engine..hee hee..I'm sure my DH would miss that too..since he was a firefighter for so many years before we started our construction business here in Florida. I always tell him...firefighters are the best..and then some smart remark that is Spark censored about hoses! emoticon Opps...I'm in a feisty mood today must be the pressure of the holidays! emoticon

Smart, smart girl you are on the E-Bay deal..we were thinking we could do the same thing with our Orange Bowl tickets..I love to make a cool couple of hundred bucks! And since our friends can't go now...why not?

Have a great Friday! Merry early Christmas!! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon
