The results are in.... my 8 weeks on the Metabolism B Plan!

Monday, December 21, 2009

I started the Metabolism Miracle plan on Oct 19, and due to circumstances beyond my control, had to re-start the program so to speak on Nov 2. At the start of the program I weighed 224 pounds. The plan suggests that you measure yourself and weight yourself at the start of the program and then in 8 weeks. Today is my 8 (eight week) mark, but I did weight in and measure on Saturday, I just could not wait!!

Many of you are asking me about the plan so here are my results… I lost 14 pounds and 15-5/8 inches! I know that to many of you that does not sound like a lot, but, for me that is WONDERFUL. The weight I have lost prior to this has taken me approx 3 years to lose, so I really lose S L O W …..and yo-yo quite often. This plan really has been quite easy to stick with, and I really have not craved any BAD carbs. The plan also suggests that you exercise for at least 30 minutes everyday, which I hate to admit that I really have not done everyday, but, I'm getting better!

The first eight weeks of the plan you can eat as much protein, cheese (yes, I know that cheese is protein), nuts, and low carb veggies, along with 5 net carbs every five hours (called 5 X 5 carbs), so examples of the 5 X 5 carbs that I chose were low carb, high fiber tortillas, low carb bread, low carb protein drinks, and low carb crackers. Believe me even my hubby read labels to help me find items that fit on this plan. The book also has recipes for several kinds of low carb muffins, even a chocolate brownie muffin. After the first eight weeks, the carbs increase again every five hours, and I have found I can even hardly get all of the food in after the carb cravings left my system.

Women’s World magazine will occasionally run an article about the plan, it is usually under the heading Metabolism B Weight loss plan (that is how I discovered the plan) This next two paragraphs are copied from the book and explains a little about the plan:

“Do you keep gaining weight, despite your efforts to diet? Do the pounds accumulate around your tummy? Do you feel tired, irritable, and unable to focus? If you answered “yes” to any of the above, you may be one of the millions who have Metabolism B, an inherited condition that causes your body to over process carbohydrate foods into excess body fat. Diane Kress, a registered dietitian and weight-loss specialist, has helped thousands with Metabolism B lose weight—and keep it off—with her revolutionary, scientifically based program.

The Metabolism Miracle program is a three-step approach that resists your body’s overactive response to carbohydrate. Trains your body to handle carbohydrate normally, and then teaches you to live a life in harmony with your unique metabolism, your weight will come off and permanently stay off. Your health will improve, your energy level will soar, and you’ll experience a feeling of peace and contentment. “

If you are interested in learning more about this plan, there is even a team here at Spark called Metabolism Miracle team, come over and check out some of the threads.
I want to make clear that I am not promoting this weight loss plan to anyone unless you are truly interested, I know that we all lose at different rates and with different plans. I just wanted to share with you my success on this plan!

Merry Christmas to Everyone!

I think it is wonderful! While added your carbs consider grapefruits if you like them, they are sooo good for you and have a natural weightloss effect of there own, I eat 2 a week, lol. Also helps with digestion! This sounds like it is not terribly atkins-y wish is good, keep your fats in check as well, especially since they can cause your cholesterol to raise. Fish and chicken and turkey are your best options. There are some really good low carb recipes on here as well! Great job! I am proud of your success! Gooo YOU!

So proud of you and congrats on the plan. Its nice when the inches exceed the pounds as its in the inches we notice ourselves shrinking, and that's a great feeling. Your losing at a good pace in all honesty and slower the better, as you will tone as you lose doing it gradually. You failed to mention that it won't be long and you can tell the 200's goodbye and be in Onederland!!!!! How motivational is that girlfriend!!! Great that hubby is such a great supporter, mine is too and it means so much!!!!
Wishing you and yours the happiest Christmas Ever!!!
