For anyone who hadn't read the past blogs my goal was to get myself to begin drinking water on a regular basis. For me this was VERY difficult. I thought of a way to help me begin drinking at least some water on a daily basis. So I stared a personal challenge for myself and called it "My Personal Water Challenge" (creative...I know). My goal was to drink 36 oz. of water for 21 days in hopes that in those 21 days I will have formed a habit of drinking water every day going forward.
Things have I learned of the last 21 days:
> Water is actually good!
> I've noticed that I'm more "regular"....LOL. Water has really helped me in this way. I thought I had a GI problems and what I realized is that I wasn't getting enough water.
> After about day 8 I realized that I water on the brain subconsciously. When it came to getting something to drink I would automatically go for the water even after I had consumed the limit I'd set for myself.
> I noticed what several water drinkers have said is true....since drinking water my thoughts of food & snacking have lessened and in some cases, are no more. I guess this is because I'm fuller than I'd been in the past. I just don't think of snacking all the time anymore.
> Since drinking water, I eat less at meals....again I believe this is because I'm not so hungry anymore.
> My skin looks better
> I feel better
Overall I'm happy and I will continue this challenge again with another 21 days. After that I'm going to up the level to 48 oz. for 21 days. My ultimate goal is to get myself regularly drinking 64 + oz. a day. This a slow process but for me it works and there's no rush. I want to reach my ultimate goal and doing it this way - I know I will.
Today is day 21 so I'm posting 21 water drinking emoticons for today!!
Good for you! Before I started this lifestyle change I rarely ever drank water, it had to be hot outside and the water ice cold. Now, I drink a minimum of 8 glasses per day and normally 10 or more. Keep up the drinking! 4119 days ago
