Strange things make me happy!

Sunday, May 16, 2010

Yesterday I went to a great Woman's Conference at my church. They were talking about Woman in the scriptures. The speaker talked about great women who have given service. When she asked about examples of service one lady told the story of a 5 year old neighbor boy who saw her walking down the street. He picked a dandelion ran up to her and gave it to her and said "Here I picked this for you." It really touched her. It was a small act.

The other day I was looking at an area yard that was full of dandelions. I was thinking of all the childhood joy that I got from blowing the seeds all around. It made me smile. My husband said that he wished they would mow so we would not have such a problem with dandelions. I did not share my thought.

We are on this earth to have joy. This is simple when I think about it. This is the feeling of watching your kids play in the sunshine or walk on the beach. My goal this week is to pay attention to the happy things in my life.

This is the positive things that I do and the positive things around me.

I can choose success daily.

Your blog made me smile. It also makes me think of a picture my Goddaughter took of my son & his family. She took it in an old building on our farm that we plan to tear down soon. On the outside it looks terrible, but when the picture was taken from the inside with the old boards for a background it was absolutely beautiful. That picture gets lots of compliments around here. Amazing the places we can find beauty.

Simple things are so nice. I love the field of yellow behind my house although it often spreads into my yard.

Splashing in puddles is also very fun. Have a great day tomorrow.
