Catching Up

I have to comment on the fabulous meal we had at Capitol Garage on Monday. We had a coupon, which offered a pitcher of beer or a bottle of wine and two entrees for $29.95. The food was wonderful and well-proportioned. I'm sure we could have done without the beer, but it did add value to the coupon.

We were less-taken with the intern production of Space Grrls at the B Street that same evening. The storyline was simple, but they could have done so much more to engage the audience. We ended up leaving during intermission; neither of us caring how it ended.

On Tuesday we watched Nowhere in Africa. It's an award winning foreign film set during WWII. We generally analyze character motivation, plots, etc. after we watch a film like this. Somewhere in my analysis, I'd made a comment about the wife's cheating (although she did it to gain something for her husband,) but I coupled that comment with another based on her generally negative treatment of her husband.)

This morning, my sweetie told me that he loves me so much, that it would be ok with him if I ever cheated. He continued to say that he didn't think I could do anything that would change the way he feels about me. You have to realize that this is the same man who early on in our relationship made it very clear that he could tolerate cheating.

I think that this is the sweetest thing anyone has ever said to me.

Sounds like a fun week. My DH and I keep promising ourselves that once the last kid leaves the nest we too will get to have a fun filled life with arts, movies, and dining out.

Does Capitol Garage have a semi decent vegetarian selection in addition to their meat courses? DH is gonna owe me a dinner out, after he gets back, something other than family style restaurant might be a nice change of pace.

    Peace, M

Another enchanting report of dinner out. I don't care for duck, so would have gone for the lamb . . sounds wonderful. Have a great day.

Yum. I live in a very small town, which has its perks, but your post makes me long for a day in the city . . . good food, the arts, conversation. You are lucky to have someone who loves you so.

I ordered the duck breast, although I like lamb as well. It was served with sweet potatoes, asparagus and carrots and the lamb has a bosenberry sauce. It was great.

    Awwww. How sweet.

Sounds like a great deal on your meal. What did you order? You always pick (and often cook) such nummy sounding things.
