Oh My

Monday, August 02, 2010

Here we are ! The beginning of August. My weight has remained the same for some time, not gone up at all, but not down either. Sooner or later it has to give, because I'm not giving up ! I like to make my blogs, interesting and somewhat humorous. Today I am just venting.

This glorious morning, I went in to have a biopsy taken from my breast. I don't know if I'm in denial or just practical, but I didn't tell my children. I figure I'll wait until I have all the information. I have 3 daughters and 3 sons. I am using my Spark friends as an outlet. If I can get the words out in my blog, then I won't be so tempted to 'eat' them.

I feel well and the lump was detected by my primary care physician during my yearly exam... I never in my wildest dreams thought I'd be sitting here today wondering about results. Regular check ups are part of caring for our bodies.

My youngest daughter was diagnosed with b-cancer at age 38 and after 3 rounds of chemo she has been cancer free for one year. My mother was one of 7 sisters. No cancer anywhere there. None among the cousins my age either. As a family we are quite blessed.

I think the best gift we can give ourselves is a healthy , and if possible, organic diet. With all the crazy studies that they do, someone should check on how much pesticide we actually ingest in a year. Thanks for listening Spark friends..... emoticon

I'm sending you a big hug; having a breast biopsy can be such a lonely, scary thing. I had one, too, when I was in my mid-twenties. Lipomas are fatty tumors that can feel very hard, and that's what I had. All the best that you'll soon hear what this is, and that it will prove to be benign. (BTW, I'm so glad to hear your daughter's doing well!). We're always right here for you, anytime you feel worried and want to talk. Lots of hugs! - Sandi emoticon

Good thoughts going your way! If it's any comfort at all, the fact that the physician found it means it can be treated early. Early treatment has a high success rate. Furthermore in most cases, the cysts are benign (I have a lot of older friends who have had this situation occur). I like your attitude, keep it up!
