I usually try to post a positive blog. Tonight I am asking for prayers.
Today DH went to the orthopedic doc about the infection in his elbow. He has been on antibiotic for 2 weeks now. It took one week for his insurance to respond and okay the referral that the doctor made. Today when the doctor looked at his arm and the infection, he immediately said., "we are doing surgery tomorrow morning." So by 10:30 tomorrow he is to have surgery on his elbow. He will make about an 8" incision, drain the infection, repair the dead tissue, etc. The positive is that he seems to know exactly what needed to be done and is not waiting for anymore insurance approval, etc. I will be grateful for it to be taken care of.
So when we got home tonight, my son had called to say my DIL was taken to emergency around 6. She has a disection in one of the minor arteries in her neck. They are keeping her overnight to monitor her BP, give her blood thinner and do an MRI tomorrow. She came home from a day at school with neck pain, then her eye sight was not good. Right now her vision is still not good. They have ruled out stroke and a few other things. Not sure if this is related to migraines she sometimes gets. My DIL is only 35 and the mother of two ages 2 years and 10 years old. They live in the same town we live in. I am not able to help with the GC because of DH's surgery tomorrow.
Interesting that today's scripture reading focused on endurance and faith in all situations. The message was that when we see hard times, or stressful situations, these experiences can be both a cross and an opportunity. These experiences deepen our faith and trust in God. Our faith calls us to endure and to trust that our loving Father is involved and HOPE is always appropriate. I will use this message to be with me as I face the day ahead.
Thank you to all who read this blog and offer prayers for my family.
