4 MINUTE MEAL

Wednesday, August 25, 2010

Well, most of us want things fast, quick and in a hurry. Well, this is not a quick recipe for a meal but only to say I ate a meal in 4 min. I guess it was more of a snack. I had a salmon patty and a bowl of broccoli salad. The salad was probably 1 1/2 cups. It consisted of broccoli, red onions, tomatoes, reduced fat feta cheese and Italian dressing. I had started eating and was trying to eat slow and the next thing I knew, I was half-way through and only 2 min had passed.
Believe me, I have been trying to eat slowly by even chewing my food slower, putting my fork down, etc. When I started counted my chews, I found myself putting more food in my mouth before I could finish the first spoonful. I know I'm not alone. The last time I tried to take 20 min to eat my food, my food got cold. Anyway, I'm still working on it.

    Hi 22PHAT;

    Just dropped by to see how you are doing and I say you are right on course. You are one of my Spark friends and I am visiting all of them. This will take me two months or more. You eat fast and when I was working i did the same thing. In my office you where lucky you could get one bite. I made two changes when I wanted to loose weight. First I stop using the dinner plate and use a dessert plate, one spoonful of vegetables, one of starch,one small piece of meat and a drink.
    No seconds and then I started to count chews to fifty. Then count to fifty before taking another bite. It takes me ten to 15 minutes to eat and I don't count anymore, just enjoy my food.

    Stay true to yourself in your healthy eating, routine exercise to reach your goals. May God watch over you.
