Note to self: Stop trying to fix everything !

Hi My Understanding Spark Friends..... emoticon
I recently had another of my many genius ideas. I have not advised you of my genius status before, it's usually reserved for friends within hearing distance. I get ideas, some good, some great, some flops.

One of my good ideas was to invite fellow watercolor painters to my home to paint every Friday afternoon. It is quite the success. I have two walls of windows for great light and we now call ourselves the "Eclectic Collective"... wanna guess who came up with the name ? No fair, I already told you I'm a genius.

My latest grand scheme comes from my love of yoga. I have been practicing for about 40 years, more then less now. I am very aware of the benefits and wanted to introduce the concept to my 'older' but wiser friends. One of my former pottery students has gone on to teaching yoga, completed the courses and is almost ready for his credential. Why not hit two birds with one yoga mat? I convinced my friend the yogi ( witout much effort at all ) to take us on as his project, and create a class for older, tighter, heavier, amiable, humorous students. To make room in the world for new students of the ancient Hindu practice.

We are the 'YOGA DIVAS" ... a local studio made space for a Monday morning class and a 'love offering' price. Many older folks are on pensions etc. Two of the group do 'chair yoga" and the rest of us on mats. We have a member who is 80, and a very spry 87 year old who is amazingly limber. The pace of the class is quite slow and easy stretching. We plan on a year round effort. I hope learning to 'feel' our bodies, to gain better balance, to meditate and continue to participate in our aging process with grace will be a blessing. By word of mouth, our class has grown from 5 to 15 in 4 weeks !

You might want to approach a yoga studio in your area. Yoga can be for everyone, tall, short, thin and not so thin. Most yogis would be happy to design a class for those of us with issues of health or weight that keep us from being the willowy type in magazines who can twist into pretzel shapes. Spread your kindness and generosity any way you can, share your talents. Do you garden ? Sew? YOU have so much to offer. Keep Sparking. Namaste

This is what you do! Your offering of balance, peace and grace is the best gift you could give... I wish I could be there with you and the Ecleltic Collective! We have a make shift commune in the making here, but we call ourselves the merry band of misfits emoticon You've launched a whole new course there, and I look forward to hearing more about how this spark brings light into the lives of your friends...

    with love --
