Season of Change Celebration

Namaste My Spark Friends - which means " The light in me sees the light in you." I spent this afternoon having a wonderful time at our local yoga center celebrating "Season of Change". For the first time, I sat in a drumming circle. If you haven't tried it, put it on your bucket list. You can't do it wrong. A lead drummer ( with a big deep drum ) pounds out a repeating beat, perhaps a 4 count ? Other drummers join in and eventually you really get absorbed by the beating of the drums. Since I have no frame of reference that is a very simplified explanation. I loved it. I felt like the drums were beating in my blood and pounding with my heart ! I should mention that I am 64 years wonderful and it felt great to be swallowed up in this manner.
Also at the event were vendors, including me and I sold a few bowls and several Christmas ornaments. There was Eastern Indian food, fabulous ! Sari draping, ingenious wrapping of 6 yards of gorgeous fabric, and flattering to many different body types. They also had henna tattooing ! I now have henna'd palms and feet. What a glorious afternoon of meeting new friends, old friends, meditation and exchange of ideas.
It feels great to be able to embrace something out of the routine. Sort of like changing up your exercise schedule... maybe belly dancing is in my future. This blog is not necessarily about food or weight loss, it's about trying something new and exciting. It's about loving your life and living it ! Weight loss will be nice too.... soon I hope.
