VICKI'S GREEN BEAN CASSEROLE 1970
20 oz. frozen whole green beans
2 tbsp butter....2 tbsp flour
1 tsp salt....1/4 tsp pepper
1 tbsp sugar
1 cup sour cream
1 med onion, grated
1/2 lb. swiss cheese, grated
1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, grated
2 cups finely crushed corn flakes
2 tbsp. butter, melted
Cook beans as directed and drain. Combine flour, butter, salt, pepper, sugar and sour crean in sauce pan. Cook until thick. Add onion.
Combine beans with sauce and pour into buttered casserole. Cover with the cheeses. Top with crushed corn flakes and drizzle butter over entire dish. Bake for 20 minutes at 400 degrees F.
Enjoy! Unusual and very tasty. I've been using this recipe for almost 40 years and it is still a family and friend favorite.
