My Heart is full this Christmas Eve

Friday, December 24, 2010

My heart leapt with joy when my son and his family arrived for our family Christmas. Trying not to go into detail, my son and his family only live 10 miles from us. I was not sure if they were coming. After some family issues and not hearing from him for a week, I had convinced myself that they would not be here. Knowing my son I could not believe that they would not come. I held on to that hope. I prayed for acceptance of whatever happened.
I was so pleased, and blessed when I saw them coming. We had our gift exchange and our lunch and a very blessed time together. I should not forget that my younger son and his family were also here. I knew they were coming. Love having all of my children and grandchildren here for all the time that we are able to share. Truly a blessed time.

Snow started falling this morning. We had snow showers predicted for all day. We probably have about 4 inches. Definitely a white Christmas.

Mass is at midnight at our church. A wonderful service. I was not sure if we would go, but DH wants to go. We do have to travel about 20 miles to get there. Snow has stopped and hope the plows and salt trucks are out so we can get there and back safely. That would be a wonderful end to this day and start to the blessings of Christmas Day.

Wishing all of my Sparkfriends their own special Christmas blessings.

Good to hear your Christmas was everything you hoped for. I'm always especially thankful for my family during the holidays - somehow we manage to put our troubles aside and work on showing each other how much we care. It's the part I anticipate the most :)

Celebrating Christmas with family is so important to us too! That's why we stay in MI until our Christmas together is over. The memories of Christmas can not be replaced. I am so glad for you that your son and family came and you could enjoy a special time together. Merry Christmas to you and yours!

Oh, I understand how wonderful it is to have your kids with you. As they grow, and set up their own homes it gets harder and harder.
My daughter and her three will not be up till Monday. But, hey! Christmas continues till 6, January, right? Have a blessed Christmas season!
