And so it ends...

Friday, December 31, 2010

just like everything else, the year must come to an end. Another year with Spark People with a mixture of successes and disappointments. Trying to meet the goals I set at the end of 2009 was an effort I made with some success. Of the seven goals, I succeeded in meeting 5 of them. That leaves 2 to either ignore and toss to the side, or review for potential in 2010.

The first goal I failed to meet in 2010 was to quit smoking. This continues to be of such importance to my physical and financial wellbeing that I must again put it at the top of my goals to reach in 2011.

Exercise consistently was the second goal to go by the wayside. Another item that must be incorporated into my daily life or other goals will be unachievable. With that in mind I have edited this goal to specify when and how much exercise will be done. 5 days a week I will exercise for a minimum of 10 minutes.

Other goals have been added to the list, among them a weekly review of my goals, and meeting my goal weight. This is going to be a challenge with quitting smoking, but by exercising and tracking my foods daily it is doable.

Because I am a spiritual being at heart, I will retain my focus on the spiritual me in 2011. There are a few other goals on my Spark Page if you are interested.

Within the first 30 days of 2011 I will break down each goal into mini goals to allow for measurable success along the way and the inspiration that comes from meeting a personal goal. This process will include identifying personal rewards for each 'mini' goal reached.

And those are my thoughts on this night headed toward the end of 2010.

For 2011 I wish each of you the patience and persistence to achieve your goals. I wish you the calmness that comes with self satisfaction. If you have chronic health issues, I wish you the ability to deal with them in a way that disallows their intervention in the quality of your life. I wish you friends to travel life's highway. And lastly I offer my hand in friendship to all who take the time to read this blog.

Happy New Year! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

I love your mini goal plan as well and will have to try that myself. I send all my good energy your way to not only meet you your goals for 2011, including getting to such a huge success with all of these goals that the day will come that you will feel so good that giving up smoking will be your icing on the cake!

Happy New Year to You - Wishing you success on achieving all your goals in 2011!! The 2 goals you set and didn't achieve are also on my didn't achieve list, unfortunately!! I'd say overall that making 5 out of 7 goals is admirable and that you are having a successful Spark Journey. God Bless.
