Chain a Fool

Wednesday, January 26, 2011

Hi Friends,
I recently read a note from Coach Jen encouraging members not to send "chain' like messages as it can quickly get out of hand.

I must say that I normally hate chain mails or those stupid text messages forwarded to my phone. I ask people not to send them. I have even gone so far as to find out how to block someone from contacting me because of it. But this time I myself got caught up in the chain and posted the "Beautiful Woman Award" message to several people. It may sound silly but I did not want to offend the person who sent it to me by not sending it out. I also didn't want to be the person to stop the fun for others. And, I thought others might find it fun. But I don't think everyone does find it fun and I respect that.

If I posted the message to your page and you were bothered or were simply irritated (which I usually am) or if the messages blocked the normal activity or your spark page, please accept my sincerest apology.

Saw your post on the SparkAtlanta team blogstream. I didn't forward it but I did repost it to the person who posted it on mine. I don't normally participate in those but I do understand the kind gesture it is from those posting it. You're so cool to help Coach Jen and blog about it! emoticon

I understand both sides of this one. I despise chains too, especially when I receive them at work. With the beautiful woman award, I did not forward it, but I did make a general "thank you" to everyone who posted it on my page. I think we're all beautiful and it's fine if someone wants to remind us of that, but don't ask me to forward it to everyone I know. If I particularly like one of those chains and do forward it, I take off the part where it asks you to forward it first.

No offense taken - have a wonderful day - you too are a beautiful woman!
