Old Habits Die Hard

Sunday, January 30, 2011

I've been sparking for nearly a year. I've become consistent with exercising and cook more at home than I have in a long time. However I seemed to have hit the dreaded plateau. A friend shared with me "the Seventeen diet". I decided to give it a try not as a quick fix but to learn even more. I also decided to start Monday because I will have the money to go grocery shopping. However, I stoped at the Kroger to get a few things and saw that ice cream was on sale. I picked up 3 because it was on sale. I got bananas to cut up in the ice cream. I also picked up soda and started to walk over to get cake to go with the ice cream. All the while thinking, well if I start this new diet Monday then I could just eat what I wanted all weekend. How ridiculous! I got a little more exercise by walking back around the store and putting everything back except for the single serving ice cream and the toilet paper(the reason I actually came to the store) and bananas.

It sounds like you made a great discovery and a great decision. Keep us posted on the new "diet" - it does sound like a good way to jump-start the weight loss again. I've been on a plateau since probably last July, so don't get too frustrated.

Great final choices! emoticon emoticon I've done the "one last time" thing so many times I've lost count....but finally realized there really be another time to have a little bit of something, I don't have to do it all 'one last time.' No more 'Last Suppers', either. It was good to read your example, and see you re-trace your steps all the way to victory. emoticon
