17 Day Diet-Revisited and Revised

A while back I wrote that I was starting the 17 Day Diet and that I would update my progress here on my spark page. But no such luck. I was confident that this would be fairly easy for me because I have gained so many good habits in the past year, but sadly it was not easy to stick with as most diets generally are not all that easy to stick with. Truthly speaking I don't usually fancy diets but this one seemed sensible enough. The 1st 17 days is generally lean meat, vegetables and yogurt. I brought all of the food necessary including the yogurt with probiotics and all of the fruit that I needed. I must say that usually mu kids eat up all of the cereal, bread and lunch meat as fast as you can blink your eyes but bouldn't you know that this time the fruit disapeared in two days. I could not keep up with the food. I also could not stick with the whole "no carb thing" for 17 days. Since it seems to be slow progess loosing this next 20 lbs I thought I would revisit the 17 Day Diet and revise it to meet my need. So I will basically do what the book suggest but for 7 days and not 17 days. 17 days feels like deprivation, while 7 days feels like a jump start or a simple challenge. Funny how I've not cared much about bread, pasta and rice until I decided I couldn't have it. Anyway, I will try the suggestions in this book for 4 cycles( 7 days each cycle). I will also try and remember to update my blog on the progress whichever way it goes. Wish me luck!

    Oh I don't deal well with that feeling of deprivation either!!! You're right. Mentally breaking it down in to 7 day chunks is more of a challenge than that "YOU CAN'T HAVE IT" slap in the face type thing. Just doesn't work well for me.

    And I do low carb for my type 2 diabetes. It has made SUCH a great difference . . . I am healthy again. I still eat carbs . . . just not the "white stuff" and processed foods.

    Seven days is much more do-able than 17 and you never know, maybe after the first 7 you can keep going. The first week is always the hardest
