Has Anyone Tried Curves?

Wednesday, August 17, 2011

I have always resisted the gym. I've always been too self-conscious. (sp) However, I think I need something to get me out of my exercise rut. There is a Curves not very far from my house. I think this might be better for me as it seems smaller than the other 'big' gyms that we have in town.

If I go, I'm thinking of going first thing in the morning before work.

I've never belonged (or even been in!) any gym before.

Suggestions? Thoughts?

Ack! LOL!

I went to Curves for about an hour and a half, and enjoyed it. My only problem is four months out of the year my work schedule didn't permit it. I work out at our YMCA now as the hours are longer (and it has Zumba and Yoga), but I would recommend Curves.

I've never used curves, but had some friends that did and they loved/love it. It never hurts to try it out.

Of course, right after posting this, we started working OT at the office. Hopefully, it doesn't last too long, so that I can take a look at Curves!

Just go and try it. Believe me, everyone gets nervous the first time in any gym. Just go; you'll love it.

I lost my first 60 pounds doing Curves about 10 years ago. I LOVED it. It was at the beginning of my weight loss journey and it was exactly what I needed. It wasn't overwhelming and I felt way more comfortable than I ever would have in any gym. Highly recommend!

I was a curve member, I lost weight, and joined the 6 wk program about nutrition and eating right! I m using what I learnt there here in sp, plus spark support!

but I realized my body need drastic fit to change...so i ended up joining a pilate class.... (young)

    but they have zumba now!

also they have awesome staff and motivation!
T-shirts, and monthly game challenges with prizes ;p

but again all curves is individually owned so.....

But I would recommend if you don't want to step into a gym!
it's friendly, and you make friends fast..
and if you have any medical issue they usually can address it!

i joined bef the smart machine, and they switch it on us... I have my likes and dislikes about the smart machine ;p

    but overall i say GO!!!!

Hi! I've been a Curves member for about 3 years now, and I love it! I go first thing in the morning, and couldn't start my day any other way! The best part is 30 minutes and you can burn as much as 500 calories and the circuit keeps it exciting. Since it is only women, it doesn't matter what you're wearing or how your hair is done, it only matters that you're there to get your workout on! They offer a free week. You should try it! If you have any specific questions, feel free to ask me! I'm the leader and co-leader of many of the Curves teams here as well! Good luck and have fun!!
