Caution! Random Thoughts

Thursday, August 18, 2011

emoticon Today as I took a long hot shower after a 60 minute circuit training many thoughts ran across my mind including what I will title this blog. I'm numbering them to make it easier to keep reading, if you decide to stick around.
1. I'm glad I came today.
2. Glad I read OKIELOSER's page today, that really motivated me to come tonight. Boy she looks great.
3.Spark is great!
4. Want to get my groove back. What is it that keeps me hanging in there.
5. Is motivation the key to success on this journey or is being conscious about your decisions the key to success?
6. This week I felt like I could only take one step at a time, one day at a time. But how will that work if this is a do it for life thing?
7. What has worked this past year is to make short term doable goals. But this week it's been daily. But I guess that's OK as long as I'm moving forward.
8. Sometimes this thing feels like a walk in the park and sometimes it can get overwhelming. I wonder what it will take to get over this hump. Hmmmmm
9. I know that this time is different, look at how much thought I'm giving it. Oh God, am I becoming obsessed?
10. Well tomorrow is another day. I'll pack my gym bag tonight with some fresh workout clothes. Maybe if I get more organized I'll be ready to get up and go in the morning
11. The next time I do that workout I'm going to push myself to give those push-ups my all
12. blah, blah, blah

emoticon for hanging in there and reading my blog.

Great blog! I was just noticing in your post in The Watering Hole that you are down 46# with only 7 to go. THAT is focus, determination and hutzpah! Weigh to work it!

I'm glad I could help with the motivation! In reference to 4, I find that getting my groove back consists of keeping at it and eventually it just happens. Whether it's a day that everyone compliments your weight loss or appearance, or whether it's a day you lose 3 lbs., or if it's just a day that you ended up REALLY enjoying your work out when you were dreading it just hours before; but all of a sudden you're back! In reference to 5, I believe it's a combination of both. Because if I acknowledge that cheeseburger I'm eating is worth an hour and a half on the elliptical, then I'm a lot less likely to eat it, because I know that I have to work REALLY hard to compensate for it. However, if I know this, yet I lack motivation because maybe I'm having a horrible day and I say to heck with this weight loss thing and eat the cheeseburger anyway... well, that's a whole different story. 6, 7, and 8: I feel you there, I believe everyday is a new day and a new struggle (or walk in the park), that way I don't punish myself for past setbacks or get stuck in setback mode. I don't think it will ever be "easy" for us per se, we'll always have to be conscious of what we put in our mouths and how much we laze about, but that's what self discipline is about. 9 - Obsession is what got me to where I am now. 10 - This helps me everyday, I pack my gym bag and my lunch/snacks for the next day so all I have to do is grab and go, this eliminates a bunch of excuses. It sounds to me like you're kicking butt at this thing, keep up the great work!

You got this Missy! You know that you will always have weeks where the cake is more important than the exercise .. and maybe you just need to take a deep breath! You are doing amazing .. and you should be so proud. If it takes day to day .. keep it up .. then one day you will look up and it will be month to month again! We all have to look deep and keep on pulling out what once seemed like an impossible goal! Smile and relax, you are one awesome Chick!

Oh my dear, living life one-day-at-a-time, sometimes one-step-at-a-time is how it has to be! Nothing wrong with that at all! Must be in the air, because this has been a difficult week for me, too, but I have kept doing what I need to do to take care of ME and it has helped so much! Is life always this difficult? No, but I'm more prepared to deal with that now than ever before because of what I've learned on this site.

    Keep sparking!

I think we all have weeks where we are just thankful to make it through the day. It's been one of those weeks for me too. I'm still working out and I think some have been better, but it's not always easy to get myself motivated to do those workouts. When I exercise every morning, I feel like it's easier - it's done and I don't have it on my list to do that day.

    Keep up the great work!
