The husband and I went out for a walk/jog today. Day 2 of 2 so far. I have been putting off signing up for a halloween 5k for a few weeks, but decided today that it was time. And lo and behold, what did I do? I decided to do the 10k instead. Am I braindead??? This girl has not run a mile in her life. The most I've ever "ran" and by ran, I mean jogged with short strides, was today. Bryan was ahead of me(he usually is) and I was just like..... doggone it... I AM NOT GOING TO TRAIL BEHIND! So I jogged to catch up with him. So, I "ran" about a tenth of a mile. Then walked a block, and then "ran" another tenth. So, you see, right now I'm not a runner. But this non runner is going to be doing something in 3 weeks. Whether it's walking, jogging or running. I've gotta make almost 7 miles happen.
Bryan and I went for a total of 2 miles today, with a few hills. Without any trying or training, there is no way I will be able to run any part of that 10k on the 29th. So, I've set myself up a little plan to help get ready for it. Woot.
Another thing I am looking forward to this month is the zumbathon this Friday! It's been a month since I've been to a zumba class at my gym. I miss it a lot, I've just been feeling so crappy that I haven't wanted to do anything. But today is a new day. I'm tired of being crabby, sad and irritable.
I've been doing a lot of thinking. Which I do that a lot. But one of the things I've decided is that I'm going to make a huge effort to stop procrastinating. I procrastinate on everything! Including getting a move on with weightloss. So that is going to be my focus. Tomorrow is not guaranteed, I must make changes today. I'm hoping that focusing on this... everything should fall into place. With everything.
All I know.... is that right now... I'm within my calorie range, my house isn't a huge mess, we are getting rid of things in the house we don't need, my homework is done, and I can hardly walk. I may be sore.... but I feel amazing!

    I'm SO proud of you! Does the fact that our lives are so parallel ever freak you out? I'm reading your blog thinking, "wow, we are at the same point!"...I was just thinking about how I'm SO NOT a runner, but how cool I think it would be if I were. And it starts with small steps. Like you said, "Without any trying or training, there's no way" that we'll be able to make it to our goals.
    Keep up the great work, and I'm glad we're both back to sparkin'
