Paula Dean / McDonalds share some things in common
Wednesday, February 01, 2012
In 1982 when raising kids, I had a difficult time buying kids meals at McDonalds and trying to get fruit/veggies/or juice with them. I was in a minority that knew junk. I was appalled when McDonald's showed a loving family giving their 10 month old his first french fry. I didn't know any other parents who restricted cereals that began with the word sugar.
I don't really care that Paula Dean made an industry of cooking with butter, flour, cream, and sugar. I am appalled that she is now a spokesperson for a diabetes medication. She has not changed her habits. There were 3 magazines with her on the cover today at the checkout line. I looked at one dated March 2012 with her special recipe for comfort macaroni and cheese. Flour, butter, full fat cheese, bacon and of course pasta.
I am disappointed.
