I just got back from the dentist and learned that she is moving to Massachusettes. I've been with her for 9 years and always thought she was a good dentist. Now to have to start looking all over again. The practice may get someone to take her place, but it won't be the same. This made me realize how much I hate changes. Why can't things always be the way they are? I guess I've had too many changes of late, and this was just one more I didn't see coming. I don't like that people come in and out of your life, possibly never to be seen again. Now,of course, my dentist has every right to make this move. For her, change is welcome.I even have to give her credit for trying to fix something that she felt wasn't working. It is the person I will miss along with her talent. She was just another person in a line of people I didn't think I'd have to say goodbye to. Anyway, I do wish her well and hope I find another person to take her place.

you know - I totally understand and I don't even like the dentist.
a few years ago - my husband had to take an early retirement due to a medical disability - that meant we lost our dental coverage. Six months after his illness I went for my last visit to that Dentist and totally lost it. I kept crying - it was so strange and the dentist was actually frustrated, he could not even look at my teeth because I kept losing control. It was not even about that specific dentist - it was the practice and of course facing all the CHANGES that were affecting us due to DH's disability. Crazy, huh? But I do understand and it will all be absolutley fine.
