Sad week

Monday, August 20, 2012

We put our baby dog down last Monday. He was a old baby who could not walk anymore and as I look into his eyes, he was saying "Mommy, I am just tired". It was a bad day and week, Our oldest son was here with his wonderful wife, which helped so much. I went back on my bike ten minutes a day to start, as my knee still hurts a bit, so taking it very slow, but I could no longer just sit and not do the bike.

Thanks for friending me. I am so saddened about your dog and think about how I felt when we had to let our 2 dogs go. My heart is heavy right now. I will tell you that a new one does help. I did have to cry in front of my husband for 1 month while he said no. Now he loves her so much and so do I. hugs

I hope you are doing better...I am right there with you, we lost two of our beloved collies withing the last year...Dec 17 last year our Taffy left us from kidney problems then Autie never got over her being gone and suddenly developed heart problems and left us. The ache never goes but eases...I miss mine so terribly (they were both geriatric) and shall see them and their sister Libbie who left us 3 years heart goes out to you! emoticon

I'm a little slow - so glad you are able to get back to the bike though. Start slow and work up! You CAN do it!
I'm sorry to hear about your wonderful old dog; it is always hard to lose a pet. They really almost become members of the family don't they?

I am so sorry for your loss. We lost one of our babies to cancer a year ago last March and it still hurts. I always say "NO MORE", but end up with another. We rescue dogs and cats and in place of my sweet baby, Tigger the Rat Terrier..we rescued a little Min Pin. He's only 2 and is worse than any 2 year old child...but he has wormed his way into our hearts. Getting back on your bike may be the best thing for is great exercise plus it will take your mind off your sweet baby.

I am so sorry for your loss of your precious furbaby. I know what you are going through as I still miss my precious Honeybear and it's been 2 years. Sending you hugs and I know your pup is at the Rainbow Bridge along with all of mine.

I am sorry to hear of your loss. I have been in your shoes on more than one occasion and I swear up and down no more pets each time. It it never happens. Our dog passed away in my husbands arms about 3 years ago and I was determined not to have another animal...we have two dogs now, both rescue dogs. I guess we just can help loving the little sweethearts can we?
I hope your exercise helped to distract you a little from your sadness. I wish you the best of luck with your knee getting better.

My heart is just breaking for you. I had to have a cocker spaniel put down many years ago when she had cancer and I still remember how much it hurt. I try not to even think about our Thor having cancer, but we know in our hearts the time will come when we'll be faced with making this decision. I just wish our pets lived longer.

We had to do that with our sweet Agatha Sue. She was the most beautiful cat. Her coat looked like a cloud walking through the house.
