Eight years ago I had a lumpectomy due to invasive ductal carcinoma. I went into a clinical trial with new medications and took these meds for 6 months and then I had a reaction to the meds, fever for ten days that wouldn't go away until I stopped the medication. Then I went on a different med , the other one in the clinical trial and took it for a few months until side effects caused me to stop that med as well. All was fine until this past August when a "spot" showed up on my annual mammogram. I had more tests and a biopsy which was thankfully negative. Then three months later, this past Dec. 27th I had another mammogram which showed a "spot" again and more tests which said there is "something" there that is not supposed to be there. I need to get another biopsy and go from there. I have an appointment with a breast surgeon on Tuesday. Yesterday I was really stressed, but I talked to people who helped, and now I have a plan. It's the unknown that is stressful. Shedding light on a problem and sharing it helps. Forming a plan adds direction and hope.
