Day 5: Weekend Recap

Well, I haven't blogged since the 1st so I thought I'd give a little update.
Friday I did not stay in my calorie range. I know exactly what happened, too. I got home from work and we had a friend over and were busy socializing. I wrote down what I ate, but I didn't track on the computer. Well, when I finally went to track this (today, finally), I found out I had eaten well above my calorie range. In fact, I was 1,000 calories over.
Now, I was not exactly happy about this, but when I look at what I ate on Friday, a lot of it was fairly good for me. I did not mindlessly eat a ton of junk food. Also, I realize that when I'm not tracking, I probably eat like 5,000 calories a day without even realizing it!
I did have calories left over on Wednesday and Thursday, so that kind of offsets it as well.
Anyway, I guess I learned something from this. It's SO EASY to eat above my calorie range if I don't track it. Even if I'm writing it down, trying to eat healthier, etc., if I'm not actually counting the calories, I will probably have a rude awakening!
Yesterday, I kept busy for several hours doing housework. I mainly concentrated on the kitchen. I started out planning to do the typical dishes, clean counters, sweep, mop, etc. However, when I was trying to clean clutter off the counter, and finding every drawer, cupboard, etc. was already full of crap, I got fed up and went into an organizing frenzy. Of course, it takes quite a while to clean when you're actually pulling stuff out of all your cupboards and drawers, sorting it, throwing things, thinking of a better way to organize, etc. The only thing is by the time I got done with the kitchen, I was burned out on cleaning and didn't get as far with the rest of the house as I wanted.
Seriously, the mood I was in yesterday, if we'd had a dumpster in our yard, I would have gone into total purge mode and thrown away a bunch of junk. My husband and I are both borderline pack rats so it is not pretty!!! Let's put it this way: I discovered we had two popcorn poppers. We also had about 8 lunch boxes/cooler type things. Um, yeah. Even sans dumpster, I still ended up producing two full garbage bags by the time I was done!
In addition to cleaning a large chunk of the day, I got the chance to visit with one of my brothers a little bit. That was kind of nice.
I was technically over by 28 calories yesterday, but there was a serving of grapes I had tracked and was unable to finish (as part of my supper). I didn't bother to take the grapes off the tracker. Also, I figure cleaning for like 6 hours burned up those 28 calories easily.
I haven't done a whole lot today. I haven't felt that hot off and on. Nothing too major, just some nausea off and on, as well as PMS. Meh.
Luckily, I don't have to work tomorrow. They're forecasting wind chills of -50 tomorrow, so school has been cancelled. I'm so glad I don't have to venture out into the cold. I'm also grateful that my brother, who sometimes has to be outside at his job, doesn't have to work. I wish my husband didn't have to work, but at least once he gets to work, he can be inside all day.
I have done well with my eating today. I will admit that I feel like I had quite an appetite today. Even now, I just had supper a couple hours ago and I can feel some hunger starting to come back. Unfortunately, I only have like 400 calories left, so I'm going to have to be very careful about what I eat the rest of the night so that I don't end up being hungry but don't go over my calorie range.
Well, that's about it, I guess.
