A First Time for Everything
Monday, January 20, 2014
Hello Spark People,
As the title implies, there is a first time for everything and I have been working through a series of personal firsts. Some better than others. With a renewed interest in blogging, I thought, why not blog the weight loss and exercise journey and make some friends along the way? I'm hoping to find the support and information I need here at SP. Perusing the site for the past few days, I can't get over the wealth of information and tools available to help guide me along my path.
I became convinced that I needed a major life change last October, and sought to pursue several avenues. I reduced my carb intake, began seeing a sleep specialist (I have severe insomnia), began waking much earlier than usual and started a daily walking routine on the treadmill. I was so pleased with the results in losing those first pounds, that I wanted to continue, but became distracted and derailed in December. As with most people, I looked to the New Year as a new opportunity to remind myself that only I can take care of myself, no one will do it for me. I tend to try and please all the people in my life, rather than focusing on myself first. I don't find it easy to be selfish, but I want to see results. And I am determined to do what's right for my body now. I have some other, more selfish personal goals, but they are not for a weight loss blog...suffice to say, it's time to find my "inner goddess" (as much as anyone hates 50 shades and all it's poorly written glory, I still love that line!) in more ways than one.
I hope you can be here to hold my hand along the way!
